Obviously I didn't watch you play, so you may be doing this. But when you're at the yellow jump pad things, hit L or R instead of it jumping you. Should save you a few seconds

youll jump right in the lava

No you won't. You're not going fast enough then. My best time there is 1,36,xx. That's how I did it

I've made the jumps but not consistently enough to post a good time. I feel done enough with that stage

Vanilla Lake 1 can go fuck off.

Is anyone else actually doing Mario Kart this time, seems like we had way more people into it last year.

people probably want to save their best scores and not post. It kinda sucks. I have no problem with holding back a score. But I always like to put a score out there to atleast have fun with it. I put a benchmark on both contests really early for the fun of it.

Well i lost to slash 2nd life again. Kept playing and got all the way to super shredder without needing a continue. I figured him out a little too late and had to use a continue. Beat him easily after that. So i beat the game atleast for the first time solo. Beat it with a buddy a looong time ago.

Slash is by far the biggest pain in the game. Pirate ship by far the toughest level for me.

I spent probably 75% of my time time on Vanilla Lake 1 just to get a better time by like a second. So yeah, time not well spent, what a miserable course.

Edit: Updated
Bowser Castle 1 - 1:29:88
Ghost Valley 2 - 1:03:92
Vanilla Lake 1 - 0:58:56
Koopa Beach 2 - 1:05:30

Edit: Total time - 4:37:66

I have pics but too lazy to upload them right now, and I might try to better some of these.

Well shit... now I really need to step up my game. Thanks for posting times and having a goal to beat.

Eh, my times aren't even close to World Record, you can look them up but they are so far beyond what I can do it's just sickening. They use some really weird techniques that I don't fully understand how they work. The only time I've ever posted that was "somewhat" close to a world record was my Rainbow Road time, and that was still like 3 seconds off the record.  Now if you are talking about Twin Galaxies "records", then yeah I can probably beat or come close to all of those.

I played some more last night and got another 2 seconds off my Bowser Castle time. I also spent an hour on ghost valley 2 for a whopping .05 second improvement. Now that was time well spent lol, I think I've hit the wall on what I can do for that course without going for that stupid jump (which doesn't buy you nearly as much as the jump in Ghost Valley 1).

I'm probably going to spend some more time on Koopa Beach since I literally only ran it like 4 or 5 times total. Might spend some more time on Vanilla Lake also, but I don't expect much gains there unless I discover a better path.

So Twin Galaxies records lol. I looked up the Twin Galaxies times and here they are:

Bowser Castle 1 - 01:31.68
Ghost Valley 2 - 01:02.93
Vanilla Lake 1 - 00:59.89
Koopa Beach 2 - 01:05.27

I've already beaten them at Bowser Castle and Vanilla Lake and was only .04 seconds off beating Koopa Beach 2 lol. The Ghost Valley 2 time will be the hardest to beat, as I'm a full second off that one. I guess I have a few more goals, I'd love to beat all of the Twin Galaxies times this go around.

About the unbelievable times issue here above.
IIRC (from pretty much 2 decades ago) in a Super Mario Kart track in which you fall down over the edges, you can exit the path right after the finish line, and if the little cloud bring you in the path right before the finish line, you complete a lap in like a couple of seconds. This is of course kind of cheating in a competition like this one. Also, I did not check if it was mentioned already, I just read the last 3/4 posts here. Also, disclaimer, this is what I remember, I can be wrong.
Good luck to everyone, not playing just because I have keyboard, and on a keyboard to play a SM Kart game makes no sense.
If I had SNES and SNES controller, I would probably try out just to see what I remember from so long ago.

Yeah, ive seen those, they are the real world records. That's why I laugh at the twin galaxies time when they proclaim to be world records.

Here's my contributions! I'm going to update TMNT at some point, as I know I can do better. Lame ass death to rock guys. SMK is probably going to be my only submission, cuz I suck at racing games.
TMNT updated. Beaten, no deaths, 1036 pts.

Updated. If we end up with ties I will probably do what the NES guys do; average out the points for your positions and round up

On TMNT, I'm actually at the end of Stage 6. That's the screen Bebop and Rocksteady appear on. I just got tripped up and died to the rock dudes prior to that fight. Not stage 5.

Crappy thing is, I actually got to Bebop and Rocksteady a few times last night, but failed to get a pick. By the time I wrapped up that run, it was way late and didn't have time for another run, so I had to settle for what I got.
