Polonius: Sadly, no. My VCR is refusing to take tapes, and I lack other recording hardware.
It took several tries to get it to that point, but I'm still unhappy with it, as I could have broken the 1,000,000 mark if I were better focused.
At least there's still three days for me to get it right.

Not bad for a start, I suppose.  I had a score over 33,000 but accidentally hit "print screen" twice in a row and ended up copying the game over screen...arghhh!

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

So far I failed to improve my score.
I'll try again today, but I doubt that we'll see a 7 digit score from me on this game.

I wasn't sure if the score would roll when getting the million mark, so I took this safety picture.

Good thing, since I finished my game in the snowy forest stage, and got a big white spot covering my score:

Then, I took a fancy picture with the high-score and my name above:

That was a painful contest for my right hand. Tapping the A button over and over is stressing my finger's nerves.

That's one fancy score.
It seems I need to work on my score again.
And it is updated.
Thanks for the challenge, guillavoie.

I'd sit here all day to make 10,000,050 points at least.
I love this game.

I'll join if I have the cart here.
For some reasons, I can't stand playing on emulators for more than 5 minutes.
But this one was a great contest indeed. And congratulations on breaking the 1,000,000 mark first, Guillavoie.
I had stopped playing yesterday and wouldn't try to beat it if you didn't do it. This game can be harsh with the player, but it's far more fun that way.

I'm just disappointed because I had to leave for the weekend and didn't have a chance to challenge MCMROSE again.... Ah well, I'll try again unofficially.

Good job, Bea and Guil! Those are amazing.

The score distribution ended quite odd, yes.
Usually, it should be a bell curve, but in this one the scores are either over 1,000,000 or under 150,000.
You guys should have tried more.
It's not a that hard game.

I'll be trying more, that's for sure! (I don't have a lot of time for playing in a week, and last week was terrible!) The challenge and difficulty in this game have grabbed my attention for some reason. Even though it seems terribly unfair. Stupid smoke bombs that you can't duck....

Oh, the smoke bombs are truly unfair.
They are an instant "you lose" button for the CPU to use at it's will. The only reliable way I found to deal with them is to climb a tree. While you're climbing, you have freedom of movement at the Y axis, so you can go up and down as needed to avoid them.
Or just pick the red bonus and hope it'll give you the shadow.

edit:
Also, something I found to be of help is to move a few screens ahead or back when the red ninjas get too smoke bomb happy. This seems to reset their behavior back to normal for a while.

i wish i had been motivated to put in more effort, but the jumping mechanics are so broken i couldn't deal with it.

True.
I only ever jump at stage 3, since there's no other way to get past it.
Jumping at the other stages leave you far too vulnerable.
