I have been told about converters but the ones that I have encountered don't include S Video. Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask. It's for my snes.

Why not use composite then? I'm a bit confused here.

You can buy an official Nintendo S-Video for like $30 on eBay, I believe. The image on an SNES using a S-Video connection is the next best thing to RGB.

Yes, but your tv does not have the port for it right?

Correct. Which is why I am asking about a way around that using a converter. Thanks.

Dumb question, but does the tv have component inputs?

What kind of inputs does your TV have?

If your tv doesn't have svideo input then a converter isn't going to do anything for you. If you have composite video at any point, that's the best it's going to be from then on.

Component/S-Video CRTs are a dime a dozen on FB Marketplace and CL. Often Free. Find a different TV.

My thought exactly. If it was from RGB to Composite you might see a slightly cleaner picture but not from S-Video to Composite.

Okay. Thanks for the replies. Talking to people IRL only adds to confusion. I will look for another TV.

I remember swiping extra leftover S-video cables from my high school (A/V department was done with them all around 2005), and having a field day hooking up my older consoles. It's definitely better than composite on most of the older compatible TVs.
