Thank you for putting this on Indiegogo since I don't do Kickstarter! Ordered a copy.

Is there a difference from a backer perspective? I think I've done both before.

It's due to Kickstarter's previous actions with regard to a particular crowdfunding effort. I don't really want to say more as I try not to mix non-gaming stuff in with gaming stuff on this forum.

I'm hoping to get a ROM to try out on my Everdrive! The game night is just over a week away, would be a damn fine night to get 4 players in on it!

I'm guessing a few backers will receive their physical cartridges before the ROM is released. The creators would probably want to time the ROM release so physical reproductions don't appear online before backers start receiving their carts. This would be the easiest game ever to reproduce. It doesn't require a mapper chip, and there are many worthless copies of Gyromite / Golf out there (to use as donor carts).

I understand the logistics of the physical games going out before a ROM release, I just can't stand the Kickstarter formula of backing a product and waiting on the game to ship.

Dammit, I missed both the Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Will a ROM download be made available to the general public for purchase?

We just released the ROM and PC versions at https://morphcatgames.itch.io/micromages

All Kickstarter/Indiegogo backers should have received a download link + Steam key via e-mail.

You may also want to check our latest Kickstarter update for more info on the digital release as well as info on the physical cartridge shipments.

Finally got to play this on my PSP. What a fabulous game! Super colorful, ingeniously conceived graphics, love the music and sound effects. Top marks! Anything else in the works from Morphcat? (Still hoping for an expanded Super Bat-Puncher; I bet a Kickstarter for that would blow up big time!)

I played a little on release. It is the expected blast, thanks for this gem!

There is verry little games that I enjoy to speedrun,... Here is my best time for the day, first boss down at 02:50. I hope to find time to train the rest of the game, already found some little skips in world 2 =)

It really is a fabulous game; super addictive and gorgeous to look at, and kick-ass boss fights. And simultaneous multiplayer, wonderfully implemented. This has gotta be one of the top NES homebrews of all time, right up there with Battle Kid 1 & 2 and Twin Dragons.

Actually I'd go even further and say that this is one of the best NES games ever released. And, here's a great video of the extremely likable Darby & Lair playing the game and expressing their love and admiration for it:

This game works great with the Emio NES Edge joystick on my NES Classic (turbo fire buttons for the win). Would assume it'd be great with the NES Advantage joystick as well.

I would have never guessed this was NES. This really pushed the limits of the actual hardware. Nice!
