Ohhh, finally another game I love and have here.
Time to plug the NES back in.

Yeah, I played this game a lot as a kid. If I have time maybe I'll play it.

I played this game a bit as a kid - friends had it. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me. My brother couldn't, either. Hated it. Just picked it up because the gameplay is unique and I figured I'd give it another shot. Perfect timing! (although, I've tried it once, and couldn't figure out how to pass the first stage. It ended without ending.....)

Edit: Well, found the red monk. Also found a few powerups. They seem to only show up if you're in the same area for a little bit. The bubbles act like a super mushroom - hooray! not a one hit death! Has everyone else had the run-ins with the shuriken in the face? I get them constantly.

Edit 2: Boy a webpage telling you how the points are scored sure helps.  Still a hard game, though.

Edit 3: Woohoo! Broke the 6th digit! Yeesh, what a lot of work.

Sorry guys. I meant it when I said I wasn't going to admit losing on this one to a man.
I still hate the red ninjas smoke bomb, though.
I hate those smoke bombs the red ninjas toss. They are an instant "you lose" button.
And I lost momentum so I couldn't get to 7 digits in my score.
Let's see how long this one will hold. I won't admit losing on this to a man.

A bit better, but still not reasonable enough.
I'll improve this during the week. It was a bad start.

I have a question regarding the rules for this one.
This game loops. So, after beating the third boss, you'll be back to stage one, and probably with a reasonable score.
What should one do should they die there? How can one prove that they looped the game and were sent back to stage one?

Bea, I think the honor system takes effect at that point. I'm still a bit new to this contest thing, though....

Holy crap! You guys are so much better than me!

I don't know, just stop being THAT good and it should be okay.

No, really, I think we'll just go with blind faith. If you can make 300000+ points just on stage 1, you can do it throughout the game.

haha yeah, anyone good enough to rack up THAT many points, wouldn't need to hang around farming on Stage 1 anyhoo... safe to assume if you're score is 10-kazillion and your screenshot says "stage 1", it's your 20XX-tieth loop through by then...

(That word is pronounced too-thow-zind-ex-tee-ex-tee-ith)

I think I'll just avoid dying at stage 1 then.
And damn, I'm losing to a man!
Today night I better improve that score quite a bit.

Turbo? o.O
But... why? Turbo only makes things less fun!
Also, edited my post with a new score.

Actually, turbo controllers are not allowed in any of the contests.  Here's a link to the rules:

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=31&am...

If your recorded score was done with a turbo controller, then it's not valid and a new one will have to be submitted.

Ho. Ly. Crap. That is mind boggling. I would absolutely love to watch that. Do you take video of your playing? That is seriously cool.
