I'd offer $500 on the lot.

Sounds fishy. Has he made any mention what kind of "deal" he is thinking on Cheetahmen?

Offer him $1000 on everything, including Cheetahmen II.

I don't see anything fishy about it.. He knows I would be selling them on here and they would be going to people who would appreciate them.
He would rather sell the whole lot off to me rather than deal with eBay, because he hates eBay.

Sounds like a sales tactic to get you to buy all of his other stuff. If you are just doing it to have a shot at the Cheetahmen cart I would make sure you were at least in the same ballpark before buying a bunch of other stuff you don't even want.

It is a sales tactic for him. And it is a sales tactic that i'm ok with, because i'm not going to buy them unless I get a good enough deal and can make quite a bit off of them.

This right here. You are going to have to see what he is going to take for cheetahmen II before you buy it. You are going to have to decide on a top dollar you would pay for everything and then adjust your cheetahmen offer based on what you get that lot for since he doesn't want to do anything before selling those other games. You are saving him 18% in fees, time to list, sell, and ship, etc., so you have to use that in your bargaining.

Tell him what you know about the game and its value because the way it sounds he knows what its worth already. Figure out what he's willing to sell it for now AND come to some agreement on a deal you can get if you buy most of the boxed SNES games.

Plus he might even give you a better deal if your honest with him.

This is why i looked up all the values of the boxed games he has. I want to be honest with him.

I understand he is avoiding a large amount of fees with having me do it all instead. I am going to pull every card in the book when it comes to negotiating with him. If it doesn't make sense for me to do, them i'm not going to do it. I just really want to get that Cheetamen II cart for a decent price, and I think this is the best way to do it.

I may make him an offer on everything including the Cheetamen cart, but i'm not sure what he would do, I guess it's always worth a shot.. I made the update to the thread because i was trying to get an idea of what I would be safe spending on the games..

Hmm.. this is good for you. E-bay is a global marketplace, and he's choosing NOT to use it to get some extra cash..

635 * .82 = $520
$500 on the lot sounds actual kind of sucky. If you don't get top dollar you'll be close to losing out after e-bay fees. Not to mention time and effort ALREADY spent pricing them.
I like the $1000 on the lot w/ Cheetahmen II. He's a guy who understands reselling and you need some room to make a bit off the lot. He probrably Cheetahmen for $200 - $300 bucks since it's a niche item. He knew he could make at least a 200% profit. The other games I would be he paid under $10 each. Weird that he would have you price them for him if he KNEW what Cheetahmen was worth. Of course you might see those prices wane after there is a supply of Cheetahmen II released here shortly by Greg P. If people just want the game to call it good.. (like me) I couldn't justify the extra $$ on an original.

The guys in the pawnshops around me are pretty open about how they handle buying vs. pawning. You get X% of the items value in their market, some use e-bay, but thats a poor yardstick if you don't like to sell stuff on there.

If your after the Cheetahmen II cart, get packaged in the deal with the boxed games, buy them all together. All he has to do is back out on his deal after you buy the stuff you don't want. All or nothing in my opinion.

No its not a bad deal. I have no idea where these guys are coming from. How would the pawn store owner be making more money through ebay if he has to pay fees? And plus, the TC isnt putting all these items on ebay, he is selling them to us. he said so already. Go through with the deal OR offer him $1200 for the whole lot with cheetahmen 2 included. This is literally a once in a life time deal you got going on here. Because cheetahmen 2 by itself is a $1200+ game. These guys are obviously trying to protect you from getting screwed over by the pawn store owner, but if you end up backing out and you found out he sold it to another collector for less than what you were going to offer or if he put it on ebay, well then who really did the screwing? lol.

How do you know it's a once in a lifetime opportunity? The pawn shop owner won't even tell him how much he wants for the Cheetahmen cart.

Tell you what, I have a Cheetahmen cart also. I have a pile of stuff I don't feel like selling, you buy it all from me. Once that is done come back and I will sell you my Cheetahmen cart. (I want $3k for it by the way, but I'm not telling you that).

The point we are trying to make is it doesn't make sense getting into this multi stage deal without knowing all the details. If he can get it all at once great, or if the initial part of the deal is good enough to stand on it's own then that's also great. If the initial deal is just okay, but he is holding out on hopes that he gets some sort of awesome deal down the road, not so great.

Like everyone else is saying get a price for the Cheetahmen 2 cart, and make for sure your getting it in the deal.

This whole thing seems a little fishy, and like the guy might be trying to trick you into thinking you'll get the game. I've been to and have made deals with a lot of Pawn Shops, and while there are some nice shop owners willing to make deals. There are also jerks that will try and rip you off, and trick you. Before going threw with anything make for sure this guy isn't one of the jerks that will f@@k you over.

I gave him a rough number of what I would pay for the Snes games.. Told him If i buy them, the Cheetamen II cart has to be included..
He is thinking over it and is going to come back at me with a price for the whole lot. I'm going to try to get it all for close to 1000, and go up to 1200ish.

I don't think he quite knows the value of the cart. He values everything off of eBay prices, and the only Cheetamen II game that has sold on there was sealed for 1500. I am assuming he thinks it's worth about half or maybe a little less because he doesn't have the "sealed" quality or even the box and manual.

He's probably just trying to stall, waiting and hoping one pops up on ebay so he can gauge the price. Most likely some sucker pawned this thing for $25 a decade ago and he kind of knows it's rare but has absolutely no clue what it's worth. I'd tell him you'll take the SNES games and the cheetahmen cart for $1000, and if he wants to run a museum, that's fine too.
