I scored on a original CECHE 80gig 4usb port PlayStation 3 for $60.  Never been tampered with nor opened.  It was just caked with dust on the inside and surprisingly no YLOD.  What’s the best place to purchase thermal compound besides Best Buy locally?  I might be looking to trade as well for retro consoles etc if anybody wants it lol

I buy mine from Console5. You can get a single syringe full for fairly cheap.

if you want cheap good thermal compound i like artic mx-4.

if you are wanting the best of the best. (the price isnt that much diffrence)  thermal grizzly aeronaut  is the ultimate thermal paste  and for a ps3 i reccomend you get the best considering.

best way to cool a ps3 is to remove the heat spreaders on the cpu and gpu and redo the thermal compound underneath.

Nah I get that but u can literally ruin a perfectly good PlayStation if done incorrectly. That's why I was saying surprised it hasn't YLOD for it's age lol. That's like showing a Xenon x360 (non hdmi release 360) The only reason why I bought it was to play my PS2 collection of 30+games in hd regardless of any HD remasters. It's just something about PS2 that I seem to gravitate to even after all those years it's been released. Same thing w my N64 and Other Nintendo systems but anyhow $60 I payed for was a steal considering it's backwards compatible with PS2 imo

Doesn't blinking yellow mean no video cable connected?

Nah tbh I should post a video what my ps3 is doing. It boots up but flashes yellow afterwards. Then it stops but flashes yellow. Have not touched it since it probably needs thermal compound
