Can you filter that out to JUST ebay prices? It seems like including Amazon and Half.com screws up the realistic pricing, since things on those sites go for stupid amounts to stupid people.

Lolo 3 for instance is about $7 higher than in the NA price guide for last month's issue.

This price list has been mentioned multiple times here. It's pretty inaccurate, as it doesn't take into account padded shipping. If an item closes for a penny, it records that as a valid score. Bandit Kings for $53.58 and Bartman meets Radioactive Man for $19.50 Batman Return of the Joker $13.48 lol I didn't even make it a page in. Thanks for the link, I hadn't even looked at it until now, I was just taking it as word from other users that it was a complete and total joke.

I stand behind my product.

Oh well I mean your product is great I'm sure, don't get me wrong.  However, I'd personally rather use a free list as a "rule-of-thumb" then pay $60 a year for the most up to date statistics possible.  Hell thats worth some good CIB games, lol!

I mean of course that program is going to have it's limitations, but if you have a bit of knowledge about NES items then you should be fine.  Now if you are n00b following the list blindly thinking it is 100% accurate, then you are in a world of hurt.

Why assume, like Arch said, please feel free to check it out yourself. Click the picture of the cover on the main page.

I'm only selling in the expanded format as a service to those who have requested it in a different more versatile format, and to help compensate a bit for all of the hours I put in each month bringing this to the 1500+ users we have here for no charge. You're right though, most people who like to gamehunt want to spend all of their extra money on games and just print a hard copy out. And that's great, I'm glad my work adds real value to this site.

Some people like to put it into their digital devices, or would like to use the data next to their collection list to help estimate their games' total value. To these customers, it's worth the $5 rather than go to the work harvesting the info out of the PDF and setting up their own scheme. Also, having the info from past months right next to the current price helps them to see what kind of trends they can expect, for instance, when G.I. Joe comes out, based on what happened to the Indiana Jones game prices over the Summer blockbuster movie season.

Thanks for the PM and your input!

December is ready to go! I'll be offering subscriptions starting this month as well. The options will both include all 12 months of price data, in two different formats:

$30 - 12 issues, released monthly (six free): You get the expanded price guide emailed to you in advance of the e-Zine (usually about a week ahead of time) each and every month.

$15 - 4 issues, released quarterly (one free): You get the expanded price guide emailed to you in advance of the e-Zine every three months. Since each one has the current and two prior months' prices, you'll be able to maintain a full history in your records.

Contact me directly for subscription payments, otherwise the link will take you to the page to purchase just this month's guide.

Are the prices just for loose games?  Do they take into account condition of the game, or does the sale of any copy go into the calcualtion?  Also, how do you arrive at all whole numbers?  For the games over like $10.00 thats fine, but what about the games that are $1.00 or $2.00, there aren't any $1.50 games?

Yes, no, rounding. The methodology of the price guide has been explained in the first e-Zine in which it appeared. Splitting hairs on cent increments is silly. A dollar game is a dollar game.

Thanks for your interest. If you use the Paypal money transfer it will probably cost you more than $5 canadian to get me the $5 USD that I need, but their exchange rates aren't too bad.

If your palm treo 600 has an app that will display .XLS Microsoft Excel files then you're good. I can also send a .CSV export of the file in comma-delimited format, which any spreadsheet will be able to import - the only drawback will be that you will need to resize your columns, and the header image will be missing. But the data will still be available to you on-the-go with a minimum of effort.

By the way, I didn't bump this but the Jan guide is of course complete and has been distributed!

Just a bit of poking around here:

Might want to play with these and see if you can import a simple file.

are there plans for the future to include cib games, or snes games?

I think your sales would go up alot if you included snes in the paid version, but kept the free bee exclusivly snes.. but i know thats an assload of work.

No plans for other systems at present. CIB games are even tougher to get prices for than loose carts. Matt (MB####) has been working on a CIB price list for quite a while now and it's still not complete afaik.

Dan, let me just say... I applaud what you're doing. I just started reading through the thread and I think even at 5 dollars a pop, it's easily worth it! As soon as I'm able, I may go with a year sub.

Thanks man, I'm glad that it's the right choice for so many people. I've had some great success selling this both here and at eBay, and have gotten some repeat business and subscriptions as well. As long as it continues to be useful and I can devote the hours each month that it takes to make it the best product I can, I'll continue to upkeep it.

Please refer to the article in this past month's e-Zine for a comprehensive overview of exactly what the guide is, and isn't -- and why.

What did you edit today? It looks the same and still says "The August Expanded Edition is ready and waiting"
