Allow edit-post window to automatically resize missed the resize-arrow all this time, but it really should "just happen"... :P

bearcat points out the arrow I've overlooked all this time (thanks)

But it seems like it that editing window should just resize automatically, all the same.

Is there a reason it can't?

The empty space when you enlarge the browser window is useless for any other purpose... just expand the text entry section to fit.

Probably isn't a problem for most people, but it is a huge weekly pain-in-the-ass when upkeeping the high score table post for the weekly contests.

Is being stuck with the default window size a hard limit of some sort?

Is it due to using Chrome?

Can it be made to resize with the window instead?

Did you try stretching the text box vertically by using the arrow in the bottom right corner of the blue bar right under the text window?

You mentioning it is the first time I've noticed that arrow

Pretty much every other gui I use either has stuff resize automatically, or the cursor swaps to a resizing arrow when you overlap the edge of the window.

This still leaves the question of:

Can the editing window expand to fill the available space automatically?

It seems bizarre that it doesn't, since the available empty space when you enlarge the surrounding window is useless for any other purpose.

I just found it, but the icon with the four green arrows (second icon from the right on the top row) maximizes the text window. The toolbar at the top is still there, but it's a huge improvement over the small window.

That's not quite what I'm asking for. (though it would have been useful all this time, if I'd looked for it )

I'm more wondering why when you expand the window itself, NOTHING resizes vertically except for the footer margin.

Intuitively, the USEFUL part of the page should expand automatically.
