fail in the sense he didnt even seperate the gold off the board? hell even if it is a real conkers cartridge a back swap would put it back to original value.

Its a bad sign when a clothes line with hanging giant socks is the backdrop... inside the house. I probably wouldnt trust his laundry advice either.

700 views. How did you find it? This is such a fail. Even if it was in bad shape and didn't even work, he could have made more off of that thing by selling it on eBay. In fact, I'd guess any gold in any cart isn't even worth $.25. I don't care what your capabilities and personal background might be, I'm sure there are easier ways to make "free" money.

Tom's Hardware did a pair of experiments back when gold was stupid high in price to see how much gold one guy could pull off PC motherboards and CPUs:

https://www.tomshardware.com/pict...

In short, they had to spend about $75 and handle dangerous acids to extract a BB-gun sized ball of pure gold worth about $3. They noted the only way gold extraction is profitable is when it's done in a mass-industrial scale.

I'd wager rlh's estimate of 25 cents is probably too generous, I'd guess there is a few pennies at most of extractable gold on a single N64 cart.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Meh, I reckon he's just fishing for views with that, I doubt he ever actually believed that there would be enough gold in an N64 cart to sell.

"Oh yeah, just gonna pick a random N64 cart off the shelf here to bust open" **picks up CBFD**

Not likely, imo. Besides, what is that, the lowest effort video I've ever seen? This guy sucks hard, lol!

I already forgot how I came across it, but I'm pretty sure it was in a Google search that was unrelated to N64.

I'd like to believe it's fake too, and maybe he did pull a Conker's hoping to get people to notice, but I checked out his accounts and he has other "scrapping" videos.  I couldn't watch any of them either.  I just... couldn't, but you get the general idea from the description.

EDIT

Well, I was fooled and you're 100% correct.  I watched the video.  He doesn't do a thing to it other than open it.  He knows what he's doing and he's not doing it well (which I only know because I chose to be informed after I sent the above post.) I think watched the first 5 seconds of the one with his kids, where they start off saying "Don't tell dad, but I got my Dad's GPS out of his truck."  Yeah, guarenteed, this guy is trolling people like us.  He only one because the idea of tearing apart a $100 game for $.10 of gold was to much for me to even watch.  Now I see, there wasn't anything to watch to begin with.

Well he only has 4 videos. One has 9 views after I clicked on it twice. All of them are 4 years old.

That Sirius radio dock think wouldn't be a similar troll. I've been seeing that junk at thrift stores for a loooong time.

The thread title gave me a scare, but the video is super low-effort trolling, jumping straight to a Conker's cart. Why not go all the way and use Sculpter's Cut instead? That'd really rile people up

He told me it was only around 70 views when he shared it here and on Reddit so...

I see that he subscribes to at least two other scrapper channels on YouTube. Scrapperella and Moose Scrapper.

Dude might be legit. Hopeless, either way.

Most people recognise Conkers quicker than Sculpter's Cut I think, were it me and really wanted to stir up something I would had stuck a super common n64 board (say a wcw game) inside the conker shell (or Sculpter's) then proceed to scrap the gold off it, i'd be getting everything from stern letters of disappointment to death threats.

Seems like a whole lot of work for nothing.

Like when I see guys stripping speaker wire for 3 hours at the metal scrapper for 9.86c as Im dropping off 1000lbs of 500kcmil copper cable.
