Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons GBA repro carts? I mean, what's the point?

Okay, let me explain. For those who doesn't know, the Zelda Oracle games for the GBC has a special feature when played via a Gameboy Advance system: http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Advan...

From my understanding, when playing on some emulators it will default to GBC (which the game is in) so you won't be able to access the Advance Shop. Some mods where made to the game to allow emulators to make it "think" it was a GBA game instead of a GBC one. (Maybe even setting the emulator to have it default to a GBA didn't work? Visual Boy Advance will allow GBC games to play in a GBA mode, which kinda makes this hack a little useless even by emulation standards.)

So now that there's a patched "GBA" rom out there, people are making repros of this game, mainly on Etsy. Knowing that there's some Etsy sellers on here, I just got to know what's the point? I don't mean what's the point of repros in general (that discussion has been done to death), but if you can access everything on a GBA with a normal base GBC game, why make a repro? I personaly think they are cool-looking... is it the novelty?

I dunno, I just like to hear some thoughts (Keep it civil, plz.). TBH, I didn't know the Zelda games even had an Advance Shop until I found these repros going around. lol Let me know if I'm missing something here or any of my understandings are misinformed. I would just like to know out of curiosity.

Here's my question while we're on the subject, did any other GBC games have bonus features of any kind if you played them on a GBA?

Nintnedo's always had cool little cross-backward compatible features in some games and handhelds. Most notably are some DS games. Certain features you can unlock only when playing a DS game on a DSi. One example: http://media.gamestats.com/gg/ima...

I think Shantae on the GBC had special features when played on an advance iicr as well.

The point of the GBA hack repro is to be able to play it on a DS or a GBA micro. Those cannot play GBC games.

Ah, now THAT makes sense. lol Ah, I can't believe I totally forgot about those systems!

Oh well, thanks a bunch!   Pretty much answers the question then.

If anyone wants to discuss what other games have special features, have at it.

Wendy Every Witch Way has an "Advanced World" added at the title screen when played in a GBA. It's a shorter, more difficult world to tackle. Awesome game if you haven't played it by the way!

edit: I'd also be interested to know what other GBC games have special features in a GBA!

That's right.  You get an extra transformation dance on the GBA.  I think it was the monkey?

EDIT:  Quick search says it was a Tinkerbat transformation

Tarzan has a special* audio track exclusive to the GBA.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Manufacturing them as a gba cartridge is misleading, cause they won't work on a nintendo ds.

This makes sense.
