I know I have talked about PC gaming on the site before, and it's mostly lost as this is a Nintendo site, afterall. Yet, I figure I would make a thread about Overwatch as it is already soooo good. The beta is super-polished (which is what I would expect from a Blizzard game). I defiantly reminds me a lot of TF2, and I feel like that's the general consensus online.
I have been a loyal Blizzard fan since playing the original Diablo, SC and WCII way back when I was under 10 y/o, into having my childhood gaming experience molded by Diablo 2 (I have said that this is my favorite all-time game tied with OG Halo) and vanilla and BC WoW. I am an avid SC2 player nowadays, so as I said... Blizzard has been a large part of my gaming experience for well-over half my life. I have been excited about this game for a couple of years now, and the time is finally nearing for the release.
This is the first FPS Blizzard is releasing, and I feel like it is a well-planned time for the game to drop as I really believe that WoW is entering it's White Dwarf stage and will be gone soon enough, so Overwatch will defiantly makeup for the dying subscription base on WoW... or so I think.
Blizzard is releasing Overwatch on console as well, which will be the second game Blizzard has expanded to console with (first being D3). I strictly believe that Blizzard is a PC company, and will always be that. I tried out D3 a couple times over friend's houses on the console, and I was not a fan. Plus, this being a FPS, I feel like PC is the only way to go; again though, I am biased when it comes to Blizzard games.
I am very excited to see where this game goes, but so far it is quite awesome (as said above). There are 21 unique characters (heroes) to choose from. These 21 fall into 4 categories: offense, support, defense, and support. Each of the heroes have vary different skills and whatnot, and defiantly hold true to whatever 1 of the 4 categories they fall in. I have already found four characters I'm going to really work on playing with.
The level design is also very polished, and playing on my gaming PC equals high/ultra video settings, which makes the game look super crispy.
Anyways... has anyone played the beta and/or is thinking about getting it when it drops later this month?
