He actually sought them out to promote his Kickstarter though. That's different.

I just don't know what went wrong!

I don't even own Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt yet!

Please help me begin my NES collection! I've already a Caltron 6 in 1, Cheetahmen II, and a handful of commons! I want to start with the rarest games! Bring me your Little Samsons, your Action 52s, your Panesians and your NWC's!

Very simple. Next time you see him, flag him down. Mention you were researching an old game and you came across his name/business and you'd be interested in learning more from his POV. I'd personally love to learn about Myriad and how it was ruined by the game. Go ahead and offer to buy him lunch sometime and see if he'll answer a few questions.

You'll seem less like a creeper if it's in passing. After all, it's not HIM you were passionate about. It was the GAME. And you had no way of even KNOWING the research on the game's history would lead you right to someone you already know.

Did you ever think that the guy may be flattered to learn that somebody put so much effort into getting an interview? I know I would be. He might be thrilled to hear that so many people are interested in his story.

I seriously doubt this would be the first time a collector (or a reseller) has contacted this gentleman to see if he had any unsold inventory left over.

I dated a girl, Kelly Thomas, from Kingwood Texas for about 2 years back around '06. If you know her or see her, can you please tell her that Mark thinks she's a fat whore?

In related news, very cool! I've called and met many people from the industry in the 90's, and every single time they were excited that I was excited to meet them. Bet the guy is thrilled to share his story. Good luck!

He might not be the smartest guy in the world. After all his business plan was:

Step 1 – buy a terrible game
Step 2 – make a much uglier box and game label
Step 3 – profit

I get the feeling that not only doesn't he remember making the game but "doesn't" want to remember.

I think the only way you'll come off creepy is if u go full stash and wait for him outside of his house wearing sweatpants and no underware. If you just tell him you want to learn more about the games history, possibly write an article AND throw in a free meal in there, you'll seem 100% normal.

Just be honest in a letter. You're a video game collector that is interested in finding out more about the origins of the Myriad 6-in-1, and would love to take him out to lunch and learn his story. Don't make it any more complicated than that.

I do this sort of thing all the time, happy to offer feedback or whatever if you'd like some.

OP clearly hasn't updated because he's gotten completely lost in the maze of 283742 copies of Myriad 6 in 1 that are now inside his house.

While looking through old myriad threads I saw this one. Did anyone ever get the scoop on this? Would be great to hear.

Yeah, what happened here, I got fully torqued reading this, and the sad conclusion was that it was just a dead thread pulled from the grave. Maybe he stalked him, and now the dude is wearing his skin, in much the same way the myriad was just a caltron wearing another's skin...

considering the origonal poster hasnt logged in since the time he started this thread I'm thinking it was a dead end

And considering he made the account, posted this, then never loged in after the next day, it looks pretty safe to assume this was just a troll post. Only reason I'm not 100% sure it's a troll post, the OP used great punctuation.

I don't think it's a troll post. I would think he'd string us along more if that were the case.

I imagine that either the guy he was trying to contact moved on or was only peripherally based with the company and has little or no knowledge about the actual product. I think the OP found it was a dry well and just didn't bother to let us know.

Honestly, I wonder how many Myriads actually sold. Wasn't the company formed solely to liquidate the remaining Caltron stock? Maybe the rest were just sent back to Taiwan.

There's a Myriad Realty south of Kingwood and North of Houston. I'd bet a little money that it's not coincidental. Real Estate guy has cash, buys up stock of crappy pirate carts, sticks his label on, can't sell them, liquidates...
