Yesterday, Safari started warning me about the GVN website being a fake website possibly trying to steal my personal info. Has anyone else seen this? Has something changed with GoCollect recently? I can’t access the site anymore using this browser.

Yeah the cert expired. Odds are they'll look into it tomorrow, nobody in the office on labour day. I let them know already.

Lol that's a bit dramatic eh? GVN doesn't collect any of your data, there's no sign-in. It's perfectly safe to use as-is.

Chill guys it's just an expired SSL certificate. The site is still accessible if you navigate past the warnings.

It's not the what's wrong in particular it's the indication that maintaining the site is going to be a complete afterthought. RIP NA.

Noticed updates for the site's game catalog have been more sporadic lately. Everything all good?

How do you mean exactly? Like new Switch games and whatnot?

Yessir. I know it's a big undertaking. Not a complaint, more of an observation.

No worries at all, I appreciate feedback that helps the site/community. I'll take a look and see if there's anything I can do.

UPDATE

I wanted to let everyone know that I am working on this, personally. We have new certs in place and a process to get the site updated ready to go. We'll work to have the site updated and back to saying "secure" tomorrow. Apologies for any inconvenience, and thanks for bearing with us! UwU

Cool, thanks for working on this.

I figured it was something like this. I was more concerned that it was being overlooked with new ownership.

I am hoping we can get the app running again in the near future. It stopped working for me this year and is no longer in the apple App Store.

This. I hope there are developers earmarked by the new owners for this. Even if it's an integration into an existing app, rather than bringing back the old one, it'd be appreciated. I wouldn't be shocked if such a thing were then monitized, but then again, it'd be a good chance to revisit my toolchain and see if it'd be worth it.

I missed the chance to try it out the first time around.

I can't say anything definitive, but I can just about guarantee you will never see that app again.

UPDATE!

I've resolved the issue ahead of schedule. The new cert is up and GVN is reporting as "secure". Thanks for your patience everyone.

If ONLY there was a competitor site, better than both!

Yes, I am thinking about it and if I do, I might have to name it TheMichaelScottGamePricingSite.com

Interesting timing that your signature no longer reflects your freelancer status...

you keep being you.

Also, genuine thanks for taking care of this.

Ohhhh AWS DNS and a AWS owned IP from the A record. Color me intrigued! Dare I say we have a layer four load balancer with a few backend IIS/NGIX/Apache servers with a WAF in front! Or perhaps a layer 7 load balancer pointed at managed Amazon Kubernetes Service!

Doooooo tell!

Please no one to one public IP to server, that makes me a sad panda

edit: poo it’s a Linux Box with 80/443/22 open. Better have that 22 locked down to specific IPs Mr Glover or I’m telling the CISO! Although AWS does force that key pair on you so there is that level of security.

I've been working w/ them for a bit over a month now actually. I changed it to make that clear (I've been asked a few times), as well as because I just signed a contract for a new job that will be taking most of my time (aside from GoCollect).
