You guys know anything? I know a little, Like know has found a proto, but is there a scan of it?

Most don't know anything about it either. To my knowledge, it hasn't been dumped, there are no screenshots available and it probably didn't get far enough into development to ever see a prototype cartridge.

Me neither. You mean NES Super Mario World? There's a bad pirate of it floating around but that's about it.

Basically, he's referring to the Super Mario World 2 game that Nintendo was going to make 3D by utilizing the Super FX chip, but decided otherwise due to the development of the N64. I didn't find any information on an uncovered prototype, though. Then again, I didn't look very long or hard.

It says cheats beacuse it's just a game summary. Every game in the cheats section has a summary.

tl;dr form: Super Mario FX was never the name of a title in development for the SNES. There was never any 3D Mario game in development for the SNES.

@647: I'd like to see this source as well. Did you even take the time to read the forum post that was linked by Evan (badinsults)? It's EXTREMELY convincing.

This supposed game (according to the IGN article) was a true 3D Super FX platforming game. Besides, Super Mario RPG was conceived after Super Mario 64. An calling Super Mario RPG a 3D game would be like calling Donkey Kong Country a 3D game. It uses rendered graphics from a 3D model, but it was not a truly 3D environment.

And that source is bullshit too. This is an internet rumor that somehow became "truth" because IGN said so. God why are video game fans so eager to believe everything they read?

Also what makes this thread even funnier is that the thread Evan linked to explaining why this game never existed is literally in response to a post 647 made on my forum already. He didn't like the answer so he came here to ask you guys.
