Hey guys, so I bought a few games the other day including the original double dragon. i got home and took a look at the game. i noticed the white badge that said nintendo seal of quality. i googled the game and noticed all the other games had a black seal of quality.

unfortunately i cant try the game out on my nes as im home from university, and my nes is still at university.

under the seal it says "NES-WD-USA" so maybe it is the NTSC version??

did they release two variants??

It's the NTSC version, many games came with both seal variants as they were released before and after the seal change. The round black seal is the older variant and the oval white seal the newer one. PAL games generally have a round white seal, although sometimes they have oval & black seals as well (but you can always see if it's PAL by looking at the code...instead of -USA it will have -FRA,-FRG, -UKV, etc). North American releases all have either -USA or -CAN at the end of the code.
