Very excited for this -- love the NES volume. I'd wish you good luck but it appears that the Kickstarter was funded long ago

Congrats. Looks great Pat.

Be sure to sell some more to local retro stores, that's how I picked up your NES book.

Got any of these for sale? Sell them to me. I also buy other NES Publisher inserts, and even GB/GBC, and SNES inserts too.

I don't get it. Kickstarter is for prototypes that can't afford to get made so they get the community to fund them. This seems like it's already done or nearly done, why is it on Kickstarter?

1) Books still have to be printed - and it's not cheap. Doing a Kickstarter lets you gauge interest for the amount to order - otherwise, it's a crapshoot.
2) Many prefer to support via Kickstarter versus other traditional means.
3) Kickstarter is a good marketing opportunity - hence why many use it. Many discover products on there they never would have known about before.

Thanks, Joseph! That certainly is the plan! I think the book has been in about 20-25 stores throughout the US, and a couple in Japan. I also donated some copies to the National Videogame Museum in Frisco, TX.

This is not the first book project that I've been fortunate enough to work on, but it's certainly been the biggest chunk of time short of my thesis that I've put into one text. I spent the last 18+ months researching, playing, and writing a little under 100 games for the book. Knowing the team behind it, I'm very confident that it's going to rock, and I hope you'll consider backing it!

Will there be an app? I enjoyed the Ultimate NES app until it completely stopped working. Still doesn't. Have talked to the devs and they can't get it working either. All that said, I enjoyed it while I had it working.

The app is going through a huge overhaul with a new developer since the previous one abandoned the project. There will be an update once it is finished (hoping within the next month). As for an SNES version - stay tuned!

Kickstarter is also an easier way to take preorders etc. rather than just getting something funded.

Thank you, sir!   Hopefully, there's some sort of penalty in place for openly promoting piracy.

Thanks for making this book Pat. Clearly, a lot of work went into it. I'm looking forward to reading it.

I randomly came across it on scribd a while back. Multiple people had uploaded it. It's out there, for sure.

I just want to add that I'm 100% not condoning piracy. It's a shame that it was leaked out. I just wanted to point out that while there may have been one source, it's been uploaded to multiple locations (as I'm sure you realized)
