You're not going to survive for long without the powerups. No wonder you were having trouble.

I usually read guides and watch videos for contest games, and it's essential for Batman Returns.

 

I was just using TMNT 2 tactics to get through the game, those knife throwing girls are rough.

The knife girls aren't so bad when they're one at a time. In pairs they're one of the toughest enemies in the game.


 

Dang the section in the second level with the D.C. Helicopters is kicking my but. I'm unable to destroy them before falling to the first floor. Any tips?

The far right of the screen is the safe zone. There can't be any holes there. I hope you're not trying to jump kick the helicopters. Use your grappling hook to destroy them. Select it and then use it by hitting up + B.


 

Ah, wasn't sure about placement but was definitely trying to use grapple. Thanks for the info!

Since my last video got over 1000 views figured I try again.

I'd love to beat the game this week. I've reached the 5-2 boss. 5-1 is a bitch though. It doesn't help that the organ grinder will usually take a lot of your health before you get there.

 

I think I prefer it to TMNT2. It might even be the best looking beat em up on the system.

It'd probably get a lot more love if it wasn't so much in the shadow of SNES Batman Returns.


 

I was actually thinking the same thing. It’s as good a beat um up as there is on the system. And thought the same about the tmnt comparison. They both Konami.

This video reminds me... Don't waste batarangs. Save them for when you really need them. I don't use any until the stage 3 boss, the one that comes after the sword guy. I like to finish him off with the batarangs once he starts running instead of spinning. You'll also need a bunch of batarangs for the organ grinder, ugh. Maybe it's best to save all of your batarangs for him.



 

Oh man I hate it when I accidentally let a batarang rip! I forget to un select it sometimes.doh! 
 

Haha, Same thing happens to me when I forget to unselect it.

I also unselect the grappling hook after using it so that I don't keep accidentally throwing it during a fight.

 

yea, i learned about 15 minutes into it not to have the grappling hook equipped during fighting. instead of creeping upwards into the frame with punches, you throw your hook and get punched in the face or get hit with fat greasy clown stomachs.

Bahaha that lil hat. Christmas came early this year. 
 

I'm a decent ways into the last stage with near full health. I hope that I can beat the game.

(I probably just jinxed it, lol.)

EDIT: Yeah, I failed. The Penguin rivals the organ grinder for hardest boss.
