Some/many still consider builds of games sent to press or shops for review to be prototypes. Some can still differ from the final retail release. Prototype doesn't always mean an internal use development cartridge/PCB/disc.
Exactly. Here is my other pride and joy, it says sample but it is still considered a prototype by many. I could never sell this one as I feel it has more value than my A52 proto. I think this was also sent to press or shops for review as well, I could be wrong though. All I am certain of is its large value in $$$.
