Also, can you try Duck Hunt and tell me if the dog barks one time or 3 times? I know the Zapper doesn't work with HDMI or any LCD, but you don't even need a Zapper to test this.

On my Hi-Def NES, the dog only barks 1 time.

EDIT: just tested Duck Hunt, can confirm the dog only barks once on digital audio output and 3 times on composite

On my high def nes the dog barks once when connected via HDMI.  3 times if I connect it via composite.
 

Is this an issue with the slightly slower speed of the High Def NES? What happens on the AVS? It also has the slower speed. Does the Duck Hunt dog bark 1x or 3x on the AVS?

3x on AVS. Jason (GameTechUS) says Kevin (Kevtris) is aware of it, knows what's causing it, and may have a fix in the next FW update. There's also a Ninja Gaiden glitch I haven't seen them acknowledge.
