August 14th, 1995 Nintendo unleashed upon America the Virtual Boy.  Poor little thing didn't even last a year, but I still play mine all the time and really love some of the unique titles.  Enjoy the pics - I'll add the last couple when I get them back from VGA.  All factory sealed except the Japanese ones

The Japanese ones are probably 100% new, they never came shrinkwrapped as far as I'm aware. Nice goodies though!

But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Very nice stuff. I still need one of these sealed then I'd have the whole set. Someday. The graded ones are a nice touch.

Thats an awesome collection! Its crazy how hard such a small game library is to complete for this system.

I bought three Japanese releases new, Mario Tennis, Baseball and V-tetris.

They all came Shrinkwrapped. The system itself did not as far as I am aware.

Hmm...strange.  Must've had it mixed up with another system.  I know some systems the Japanese didn't bother to seal the games up.

I tried looking on ebay and I'm seeing claims that they didn't. It's possible the place I bought them from did a re-seal job on them. But it looked too good to be a reseal.

Added in edit: I took a screen of my Japanese Mario Tennis which still has the plastic over it (and the price tag)

It looks like a pretty decent seal. With that said, I did buy all three games from the same store. So if these are re-seals or aftermarket seals this store could have done them. Also, I have since opened them all but I kept the plastic around Mario Tennis and baseball (V-tetris doesn't have it).

If you bought them from an import shop, they very well may have sealed them (not TECHNICALLY a reseal if they weren't sealed to begin with) so they didn't have to explain why a brand new game wasn't shrinkwrapped. Also possibly to avoid theft

General used/new independent game store. They're still in business. I may ask the owner since I still think there's Mario Tennis's sealed there.

Have opened a fair few 20 pack cardboard boxes of Japanese VB Games. They have never been sealed and I have never seen a sealed JP Game. All the ones I purchased as "new" were also not sealed.

Very nice games there 1upped,  As for the shrinkwarapped Japanese games debate I think it was individual stores that may have sealed some, but most are not sealed.

No love for Waterworld? You're going to break Kevin Costner's heart.

I'm assuming that and Vertical Force are the one's at VGA. Those look very awesome.
