Just wondering if anyone remembers that when you first started your Nintendo Power subscription you received a NP Pin

I though it was cool when I was a kid...but never wore it...LOL

does anyone have one of these pins (they had sent me 2 by accident)?

Shoot me an email with the Fun Club News issues #'s you have -- I'm looking for a few of those. I used to have that pin, but I sold it with my Fun Club News set (complete too!) about 5-6 years ago when I sold off my first NES collection. If you have that, I'd be interested as well.

I started collecting NES back when Nintendo Fun Club was all there was. I now have hundreds of magazines and books all related to NES including the first 67 Nintendo Power (all the NES related ones as Wario's Woods is profiled in #67). I never tossed any of the old games magazines and I even have a bunch of first issues of popular game magazines today. My pride and joy is pictured below though... how I was able to not punch out my membership card when I was a kid I don't know but it probably explains the storage boxes full of original boxed Star Wars stuff I have too.

The only NES magazine/book/etc that I know I am missing is the folded newsletter type NFCN # 1 and # 2. I really would like to buy these if anyone is selling!

Hey Erik,

You've obviously got some really nice things -- do you have a scanner at all? I'd love to get that FCN card and some other things of yours, scanned for the up-coming magazines section.

Yes I have a scanner and would be happy to help out in anyway possible!

The funny thing is, after all these years it still bugs me, is that Nintendo couldn't read my cursive writing back when I was a kid and sent in the membership request. All my early NFCN and Nintendo Powers along with the printed membership name on the welcome kit say EriH instead of Erik. Oh well, at least I have a story...

LOL, that's too funny! But, welcome to the club -- they misspelled mine as "Dane" instead of "Dain", so I feel ya.

It's great news to have another diehard collector here, especially one with a scanner. And from the looks of it, you've got some really great items. I'll be in touch with you in the coming weeks if you don't mind, and maybe we can scan up some stuff for the site.

Quick question, how is it that people post so many pictures? I keep having to delete one to add one each time. So all my posts say see pic below and there is nothing there? Is there html code I need to put in?

Right now, most people host their images at places like photobucket.com, and then insert the BBML code here to show them. The way you're doing it (and the way I do as well, most of the time) is to upload the image here on the site through the forums.

One of the tools you'll have relatively soon here on the site is your own photo bucket on your personal home page.

Wow... that will be awesome Dain. Please move that feature to the top of the list. My posts look stupid without the pictures in them that I refer too... LOL!

That particular feature is actually at the top of the list, simply because I'd like to use it right now myself!

The other features on the table are the collectors tools and the user portal (they all sort of intermingle). I'm sort of planning on mocking the idea behind myspace mixed with GameTZ mixed with Amazon zshops to a degree in that each user will have their own "space" and they can form groups, etc, to inter-communicate. This space will have a photo bucket, your collection, your trade/sale/pending lists, etc, even a store if you want to open one. I'm going to build it in segments so that I can ensure each feature works as planned, and also because I don't have the luxury of having testers before I release it.

I like the sound of an upcoming magazine/book section

I attempted to make a complete list of all NES books/guides/etc (with the help of some RFGen members), check posts 1 and 3 from this thread:

http://www.rfgeneration.com/fo...ndex.php?topic=1534.0

I haven't updated it in a while and I know it's missing at least a few more, but it should have most listed, including international releases from Australia and Europe. I started making a more detailed list in excel with even more info, but I didn't get too far with that yet. I've got quite a few of the hint books, so I could supply more info on them if needed, and also provide scans.

I forgot to mention that I've also started adding the Hint Books/Guides, as in DW I and II:

http://www.nintendoage.com/ind...=NES.Game&Game_ID=476
http://www.nintendoage.com/ind...=NES.Game&Game_ID=477

(they're below the manual links)

I'll go over that list and compare it to what I've got as well.

Sweet, after 15+ years I finally have all of the Nintendo Fun Club and Nintendo Power Magazines (only 1st 67 related to NES). Happy day. Paid through the ass for this last one but 15 years is a long time. Although I must say I like having the rest of them from my original NFC subscription back then, slightly cheaper than this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...tem&item=170073642633

Dain, again if you want a scan of any of the magazines or whatever I have the above stuff plus a TON of books and magazines as I buy everything I see NES related.

Erik, be careful what you offer! LOL

I *will* absolutely take you up on that offer, as I can guarantee we'll need a lot of things scanned. At some point, I'll send you a list of everything I have that I can scan, and then see what you can help fill in. That way, you're not stuck scanning everything NES-related you own! (unless you'd like to, and perhaps be the one in charge of this area? hint hint! I can build you an admin area to manage the whole ball of wax. I did that for Speedy_NES to add accessories, but he's been pretty tied up lately)

Indeed, I think you're right, Jason!

What say you, Erik -- up for the challenge? Fame and glory will be your reward! Well, if that last part doesn't work out you'll at least know you helped your collector brethren out immensely.

I get so much info from the site that I would be happy to help with whatever I can. I think If you scan in all your stuff and then tell me what you want me to do, I would be happy to scan in anything/everything I have that you don't. Least I can do for all the good information, including all the new variations you give me to collect. ;-)~
