freaking impossible to find these. I bet you could get 150+ for it on ebay. The last sealed one I saw went for 110 I think.

You can *easily* get $200+ for this. I had a note about a sealed one in my store with a CIB listing and I got nailed by interested buyers. They were MIMP collectors that are willing to pay a large amount for this one. I decided to keep mine, but if you sell yours, you could get a lot for it.

Just curious - where do they find room inside that box to put the monster?

If you'd be willing to part with it in about a month's time, let me know

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

MIMP = Monster in My Pocket (that's what the MIMP collectors call it). I added some interesting info to the games page about this, directly from one of "them"

That is some interesting info. I hadn't seen pics of different color ones. Would be cool if they do exist though.

I have two pics saved on my hard drive at home of CIB MIMP's that went on eBay with two different colored monsters. The reason I saved them was because I didn't know if they were legit or if one of the sellers put the wrong monster with the game by mistake. It's nice to finally be able to get to the bottom of all this.

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Interesting that you say that. MIMP prices going up then? I've sold at least 10 sealed copies of this over the years and back in the day the game was no big deal, maybe $25. Then they started getting $50 and then $75ish. Has it jumped again? I haven't seen one in a while.

The value of the game is definitely in the monster so maybe MIMP prices have gone up? I was getting resistance at $60-80 around 18-24 months ago.

I received 3 separate offers for my sealed copy, two at $200 and a third at $250. Granted, all of those were "second" offers after I said to the interested parties that I wouldn't even consider less than $200. So, they all offered $200

I just did a search...damn, some of the MIMP figures are sure fuckin' expensive!

And I found pics of the NES monster in 3 colors, and it was apparently released in 4 different ones...fucking variants

I still have these guys' email addresses if anyone has that toy or a sealed copy. They all asked if I would contact them if I found another copy.

^ Here, I'll fix that up for you:

"Go ahead and send me their emails; I'll find out what they're offering now."

Sorry to go all grammar police on you, but that one really got me!
