Think it was called Grand Theftendo. Last I saw the guy making it switched it to be a game for download on a game console or something, ipad, xbox arcade, something. Too lazy to look up heh. But it was obvious he decided against it being exclusively an NES game and wanted to get some cash for it.

It ended up being 'Retro City Rampage' on the VC

Nope, the game was never finished in a programming language compatible with the NES, so no it's not possible to transfer to a NES cart.

It would require a complete rewrite of the game.

It was running on the NES at one point, but it's a very very early prototype with a couple simple missions scripted in. He switched development platforms pretty early on. I've seen the NES build...it's super impressive for what it is, but if this is a game you actually want to play you should just grab Retro City Rampage.

The closest you'll get are the Gameboy Color ports.

In case anyone cares, Sony is giving this away for free today (12/24/12) to PSN Plus users in the US.

Man, I would love Retro City Rampage on the Nes. Or Snes (if the Nes cant handle it)
