Few things back from Wata, show some pics then give my brief evaluation. Mega Man 2 Sealed, other games are CIBs:
As the original owner you have insight into the games much more than the slab shows you. That Soccer was significantly and noticeably nicer than Urban Champ, yet they are both 8.5 overall. I believe the weightings had Soccer at 8.72 (missed 9.0 by .03) and Urban Champ at 8.4 which rounds to 8.5 both. Nothing you can really do about it, but I figured UC would go 8.5 and Soccer would go 9.0. Just missed apparently.
Samson graded as expected but F2 was a huge miss, not sure what happened there. Both boxes are 9.4 (quite nice), but F2 Manual was 7.0 (had it at 7.5ish) and cart went 8.0. No cart peeling, no tears, no yellowing, very glossy but some minor light scuffs on surface. I thought it would have been a 9.0-9.2 but apparently I need to train my loose cart eye better. All the other carts went 9+ so not sure... guessing the prior owner may have pieced the F2 together? That's the only idea I can come up with.
Either way both display beautifully as 9.4 boxes of course. One of the main things I don't like about CIB grading is that you lose the visibility of displaying all contents, and 100% complete games truly do command premiums and look beautiful as pictured. The Matrix is supposed to come online at some point so you can view them but still feels a bit odd. Here's the pre-grading F2 pics for reference... yeah its a pretty darn nice 7.0 manual and 8.0 cart IMO:
Either way, definitely appreciate the CIB strictness. Though I've only cared about manual / box in the past and will have to pay more attention to carts in the future. No label peel / tear / discoloration was always enough for me as a collector but I'll have to give more scrutiny going forward.
