I've read the beta firmware for AVS has color palette options.

It looks like the official firmware release is the same one from September (unless I missed something) which is version 1.10.

Does this current version have the color palette option?

If not, does anyone have wind when another official release of firmware will arrive with the color palette option? Will we be able to upload pre-set color palettes ourselves?

Thanks.

1.10 does not have color palette options.

The beta versions are stable if you want to use them. I've used beta 1.20b6 since its release. I use the unsaturated v6 palette.

Uploading might be in the future, but not right now.

Thanks for your input Tulpa. I'll give the beta a spin when AVS comes in.

I'm hoping for a new official update as well. I'm happy with the stability of the betas for now.

Anyone have issues with the 1.20 firmware on the RetroUSB site? I finally got around to updating over the weekend but ran into issues with certain games, mainly constant stuttering/shaking of the HUD in in Kirby's Adventure, as well as occasional screen shake in Ninja Gaiden III. I ended up reverting back to 1.10 and the issues went away.

Also, this might not be the place to ask, but I am curious if there is any word on future firmware updates. Some games are still experiencing some major graphical glitches for me, like the first vertical auto-scroller in Ninja Gaiden 3, as well as parts of Shatterhand.

No one, eh?

It's sad how dead this sub-forum is despite how awesome the AVS is.

Tested via my AVS (Summer 2017 revision) + Everdrive N8 + Alienware Optx 2210 LCD gaming monitor:

AVS Settings
Video mode = NTSC
Pixel Aspect = middle (4 ticks from left)
Vert Border = left-most
Scanlines = right-most
Left Side = Hide
Extra Sprites = On
Palette = Unsat v6

Monitor Settings
Game mode = On
Dynamic Contrast = Off
Pixel Response = Normal (Overdrive off)

Everdrive Settings
OSv16
Smokemonster rom set (10-30-2017)

Results
Kirby's Adventure (USA) - stage 1, HUD perfectly still
Ninja Gaiden III (USA) - stage 2-2c, no noticeable shaking or shimmering
Shatterhand (USA) - stage 1, no noticeable shaking or shimmering

For those wondering, I am not talking about "subtle" screen shake or shimmering due to aspect ratio or border settings. They are obvious glitches that should not be happening (stock settings, happens on the later firmware but not the earlier).

Here are some examples (I apologize for the embeds. Even when linking them properly NA is still treating them as embeds):

Kirby's Adventure HUD bounce/shake (skip to about 50 seconds in) -

Ninja Gaiden III screen bounce/shake (skip to about 10 seconds in) -

Major graphical glitches in Ninja Gaiden III's vertical section in Stage 2 (does it on both the new and old firmware). Same thing happens in similar vertical auto-scroller sections in Shatterhand -

Yeah that's not normal. Not sure what's going on there.
