Looks like someone swapped in orange dust flaps from the orange n64, nothing special.

Well maybe someone had a broken orange 64 and a green one that had broken dust flaps. or could just be a customization job. I've done those with my gamecubes, combined a black and platinum gamecube, looks great.

i would agree like 98% with you that someone just swapped out parts, but it still puzzles me that the guy i bought it from told me it was the donkey kong one and he bought it from someone else so who knows what could have happened to it then!

Well yes, it could've been the DK64 special bundle, or just a regular jungle green unit. I'm not sure if there's a way to tell or not, not that it would matter I think, $20 for a jungle green N64 is a good deal, not to mention the controller and few games you got too.

Yeah, somebody swapped out the flaps. I knew a guy who I worked with at a game store who used to combine all the N64 colors into all kinds of crazy combos with different colored buttons and dust flaps and mix and matching the cases. It looked kinda cool, but destroyed any value the thing had because who wants to buy an Ice N64 with a Smoke bottom half and red buttons and flaps? Actually, if looked pretty rad. I should see if he still has that one.

Either someone swapped them, but I don't have a doubt that it was Nintendo's doing. Sometimes when they're low on parts, they'll use parts from other machines since they use the same mold. Some Gold and Black N64's have the jungle green color trays that're surrounding the contact connectors (Usually they are gray, I have a limited edition gold N64 with jungle green parts IN it).

Guitar Hero guitars have the same idea. You may notice that there is battery doors on some of the wired controllers yet there is no battery connectivity. Sometimes to meet the demand, if they find it more accessible or cheaper to use other parts, they will.
