This probably would have gone higher if the start bid wasn't so high, but I'm a bit skeptical that this game is "worth" $1-2k in this market. Sold for $500.

The DW CIBs have tanked from their values a year or 18 months ago, maybe the sealeds have responded accordingly.

Yeah, I really expected a bit more.  If I didn't buy so much stuff lately, I would have held out and hoped that the "buying season" would have yielded more $.  I've just been finding deals left and right lately!!!

But, I look at it this way.  I paid what works out to $12.50 for the game.  I just made well over $400 in net profit.

AND - it's in a good home now, I'm glad it went to a NA guy (keeping it private, though).

Dude I patronized the hell out of this board with this game...it was in my Buy/Sell/Trade thread for a long time and anytime I got the chance, I talked about it (mostly out of excitement that I found it cheap and in the wild)

Man this is going to be slabbed and put back up on ebay within a month with a HUGE price tag.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I guess it really was my fault for not responding (heh...really more like forgetting to respond) to one of your PMs .  Ah, well...*proceeds to kick self*.  Guess my side-quest to own all 4 DWs sealed waits another day with zero of 4 completed .

Exactly.  I'm not going to call him out since plenty of people do that on other boards, but I'm 99.99% sure that this isn't be kept for his collection.  So we don't need to pretend "that we're glad it went to an NA guy" because we're going to see it right back on the bay at some point in time. 

At least he does keep his buying and selling accounts separate so it "appeared" to go to low feedback collector rather than a high feedback reseller.

To the buyer's defense, he did make me a higher offer not long ago, and I rejected it because I really thought I'd get more. I had a couple deals that I thought were lined up, but all fell through. I can't blame him one bit...he knew he could probably wait and get it for a good price, and he did.

Whatever, it is HIS own problem now.

All chances are that this NA member will only do a fair profit amount if he ever sell it within the next month. The market has been over-saturated for this title during the last months, so the timing is not the best, hence why linktothepast sold it for a fair price.
I had the feeling DWIV was not that hard to find compared to DWIII, and maybe even DWII. Maybe it is the case and it won't fetch as much in the future as it does in near past.

Yeah I don't want my comments to be misconstrued as hating on the situation, I have absolutely no gripes with buying / slabbing / reselling. It just seemed as if the OP thought this was going to "a good home", when it is just going to be resold.

But as the seller you did kind of do it to yourself. Ebay has the whole "Free to list" promotion going on from now to early September so you could have done a bunch of listings for free.

List it at $1,500 for a 3 day auction, relist at $1,400, etc. Each of those listings would have been free and I'm sure someone would have bit at higher than $500.

But hey, you live and learn and in this case you still made a boatload of money so I'm sure you don't really care.

Indeed, I too would have bid more than $500 on it. I don't know why I missed it, that's the kind of auction I'm watching all the time.

To his credit, I didn't see it until there was only 7 hours left on it either. And usually I at least do a sealed search for each platform I collect on a daily basis. Maybe it was really just a fluke timing or something.

I had 'er up on eBay 3 times total....once at 2k, once at 1500/best offer, then at the 499 or 1500 BIN.  And it has always, always, always been in my buy/sell/trade thread - no excuses guys haha

Another NA'er offered $1200 but that fell through.  Another NA'er offered $1000...again, fell through.

Sorry, didn't know the buyer's "reputation", so to speak.  Like it has been said, I made good money so I don't care.  If he can make money, good for him.

I live in an area that has, in the past couple years, completely gone to shit.  There have been numerous break-ins within a couple blocks of my house. 

My house was even broken into once many years ago...it is assumed that the would-be burglars were strictly looking for copper pipes (I don't have any) - because not a single damn thing in the house was taken/touched.

I guess that's what I get for being one of the 1% of decent-income households in my neighborhood.  Maybe it's time to move.

That said, I hate keeping stuff in my house that's worth anything.  I've also mentioned that I've been finding SO MUCH good stuff lately that frankly, I needed more cash.  Just spent the vast majority of my reselling earnings on a new car, so I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out.

Haha...already cleaned him out of the CIB/sealed stuff.  Also struck a deal with him to sell all of the video game stuff for him for commission.  It'll be listed here soon pending Moderator approval (I want to create a 2nd User ID to separately sell the stuff from my private stash)
