As some of you know, I tend to collect some oddball items from time to time.  A lot of these items are pretty unique, and for some of them; I've never seen another like them.  Now, I'm not saying anything I have is one of a kind, but I'm pretty sure I'll have at least an item here and there throughout that you've likely never laid eyes on before.

What I'm hoping to do is to post one item every day (Obviously there will be times when I fall off the bandwagon) with a brief description of either how I acquired the item, or what the item actually is...I thought it might be a bit interesting and might also help to test my memory when I come across it.

Some of these items I hold high in my collection and some I'm not all that attached to.  What this means is that if you see an item you're interested in, pop me a PM and maybe we can work out a sale or trade.  If it's an item that without a doubt I do not want to sell, I'll be sure to mention that in the post.

Please feel free to ask questions about anything you might be wondering!

~Not for sale~

This is a cool music book I found on ebay...the pad below the book is actually an electronic keyboard, so you can play the song notes while singing them. It's not too often that you see any merch with Mouser on it, so that's an added bonus.  I'm hoping when my daughter is a bit older she'll be interested in playing it and we can jam to such rockin' tunes as 'On Top of Death Mountain!'

Yea, Im pretty sure you outbid me on that item. It was a tough battle! It was a while ago though, maybe a year? Didnt it sell for $40-$60ish?

I too will share some unique merchandise when I get a chance

I think there are nine with themes of Donkey Kong, Zelda, Mario & Metroid.  I don't have it with me to check.

#2: Custom ROB Display

0

This is a setup I used to have displayed that I thought was pretty darn snazzy. (Games aren't for sale, but I might be willing to part with the other three items)

Included is:

Sudoku Homebrew Cart (One of the original 100 made...#91),

Arkanoid (Sealed) [$60 shipped on ebay]

ROB the Robot Standalone, Big Box Gyromite & StackUp [Got these 3  in a lot of 38 CIB games off of ebay for $250 shipped.  The auction didn't reach its reserve (it was at $210 and the reserve was $300)]

Nintendo pencil holder (Handed out by Nintendo Reps)

Nintendo ruler (Rep item)

Nintendo ScrewDriver (These were given to Nintendo reps for kiosk repair use. They weren't supposed to give them out to anyone...I got this one when the rep left it at the store and never asked for it back)

I'm almost sure I bid against you. It may have been April, I bid on so much stuff I cant remember time frames. I just know it wasnt THAT long ago. I check for Nintendo merchandise at least 3x a week, so I would have spotted the auction for sure.

Either way, nice find. Im envious

I got them in May of 06, and all three are beautiful they came from the original owner and it looked like he played them once and never touched them again.  There were some nice black box games that came with it; LoZ, Donkey Kong & CluCluLand were the highlights that I can remember.

Thanks, if it was you, you were actually bidding against my mom.  I was out and asked her to bid on it for me.  All I remember is that she said she got nervous and bid w/ about a minute left and in the last 30 secs the prices started steadily rising...I think it ended in the mid 20's.  Looking forward to seeing some of your items as well when you get the time.

#3 Mario, Luigi & Yoshi Soda Display + Zelda Test Cart

0

(Test Cart is Not for Sale, but I'd be willing to part with the signs)

These two cardboard cutouts were part of a standee for a soda sweepstakes. I've always assumed they were for a Shasta promotion, but I'm not 100% sure...these were from 1 of 3 ebay auctions I can remember where I actually outbid Dain, as he always seemed to be bidding on items I really took an interest in.

Nice items Otto! I've spent a ton of time searching for merch and I've never seen that song book before either. I'm looking forward to checking this thread often...you've got some unique stuff!

I actually thought of doing something like this as well (but then on a weekly basis or so) while I was reorganizing parts of my collection a couple weeks ago, for very similar reasons (retrace the purchase & experience, and of course to dust off some of this stuff ).

(Not for Sale)

This was my mom's Nintendo Fun Club Membership card. She was cleaning out a storage trailer and found this in the mix...my mom rocks.

Thanks Pieter, I'd love to see some of the items from your collection...I've always admired it from afar; would be nice to see some of the items up close and personal!

#5: Mario Party 2 Poster

I found this poster behind a valence when I worked at Toys R Us...thought it was neat so I decided to keep it. It's not often you find Mario chillin' in a cowboy hat and Yoshi Dressed as a pirate!

#6: Smart Boy Games

0

Smart Boy games were pirated games with a purpose: they were used by movie rental stores as a cheaper alternative to getting the actual games. The known games for these are (and number I know of in existance): Arkanoid(2), Super Mario 2(1), Super Mario 3(2), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(2) & Tetris(3).  Pretty Scarce!

#7: Banjo Kazooie N64 Cases
(For Sale)

These N64 cases were available via a Nintendo Power Catalog. This is the full set, and were made for the game Banjo Kazooie...I've never played the game, but I couldn't pass up the cases when the opportunity presented itself.

#8: Punchout Pinball Game
(For Sale)

I'm not really sure if this was sold in a retail store or what...the back mentions Nintendo Power. This handheld pinball machine is sealed, but the cardboard backing is beat to high hell! There must be a set of these as I've seen a Super Mario Bros version & a Zelda Version. There doesn't seem to be too much as far as Punchout paraphernalia is concerned, so it's pretty nifty.

That's really sweet, Limbo. The fighter's profile pictures are the same as they appear on the Topps scratch off cards.
