Is Sine Mora legit the ONLY shmup on Switch currently with a physical release?

Yes sir. Theres that touhou kobuto v burst battle shrimp fighting game but i dont even count that which is why i didnt add it to the list here.

Physical releases are being phased out eventually those companies that do release them will conclude that they don't have to anymore either.

That would suck and everything, but as far as collecting goes, I think I might be ok with that. The newer something is, the less desire I have to collect it. There's plenty enough already to keep me happy for a lifetime, and the generations that follow won't miss what they never had.
 

I agree with that 100%. A shelf full of DVD cases doesn't interest me in the least

I do know at least all the neo geo and psikyo ones are $7.99 so i'll add those prices and whatever else i can from the eshop on my lunch break. Sine Mora worth the hefty price tag?

Its pretty good. Has nice presentation. Not the best Horizontal Shrimp but not the worst. Nice to have a physical Shrimp for Switch. If you just want a cool Horizontal Shrimp, Blazing Star is a better/cheaper option.

There's a lot less versatility on a file compared to a physical unit. For example reselling it at some point, or lending it to a friend. Also the hardware itself that stores everything can die too...

 

Perhaps in the future there will be ways around these present-day limitations. Maybe digital games will be transferable between users so you could give them away, lend them out or sell them at your leisure via some form of license transfer. There’s already a solution if your hardware dies, just re-download the software. Unless you mean the servers that store everything die, which I imagine would be well planned for. Doesn’t seem to be an issue with modern digital gaming, anyway.
 

I finally caved and bought a Switch Pro controller for muh shrimps I need a d-pad as my L joy con analog is touchy as fuck and trying to use the buttons is just mental.

Luftwaffe is actually quite fun I like this Squadron a bit better since its scrolls vertical, but the orginal is good too.
