I got a used Wii U a couple of years ago and it came with this interesting charging cradle. There seems to be a chip embedded in the front along with an inscribed metal plate. Some have said it is the GPU Latte chip. It is not connected to anything inside, just embedded in the front.

There was nothing out of the ordinary with the console which has since been sold. But I hung on to the charging cradle because it's like nothing I've ever seen before. Has anyone seen something like this before? Can anyone give me some history behind this piece?

Looked like something that would have been displaying a gamepad at e3 or somewhere similar showing off the chip.

I see this as being a custom cradle made for the dev/launch team as a gift and recognition. The Wii U released in 2012.
