Tusky didn't sign on to run this contest, per se, did he? He just donated the prize, right? It's still a nesruler22™ brand contest, right??

not sure... how are we going to handle these Jeremy? Does the donator pick rules or do your rules apply?

Yeah, this is not my contest, i just picked the game and gave the prize. This is all NESrulers' thing still.

Final score from the screen you showed is perfectly acceptable in my book.

NESruler - on a side note i think it'd be fun if you kept a running tally of how many contest each person has won. that might be fun. Just to keep track of. Like an overall leaderboard of something.

Good luck everyone.

Cool... I second the leaderboard idea, that would be cool to see.

if thats the case you might want to start it from here on out... i would bet there are some who may have got third place that didn't feel like posting a score because it was less than the current top (this does NOT include me.. I can just see it becoming a quarrel point)

The leader board prize should be nothing to interfere with the regular prize, like just because the leader board prize is gonna be amazing, doesn't mean that the sealed game will be like a Win Lose or Draw (I hope I didn't just ruin the surprise tusky )

Nope, not win lose or draw. Maybe not even have a prize at the end besides pride, wouldn't want to discourage someone who joins the site later in the year from something.

Decided to force myself into playing this, at least a little bit, somewhere around a dozen games, most of which I got stuck at some point, which I promptly hit the reset button (trying to stay away from pressing select, lest it develop into a habit). Only logging scores for games that I actually got a game over in, ignoring anywhere I've lost by getting stuck, even if I managed to get further and probably with better scores, its a cheap way to force you to lose and I won't accept anything unless I lose all of my lives, what I call legitimate deaths.

Score 104.400 phase 15:

Score 128.400 phase 18:

Well, if you get stuck, that score can also stand, just take a picture. I don't see why it wouldn't stand.

No, I have to do it this way, call it stubbornness. Besides, if I was able to beat Castlequest without any major screw ups to get me stuck, I should be able to handle this game. I just have to spend more time thinking about what I'm going to do before jumping into it, it'll be good for me.

Several more attempts, only one where I was able to snap a shot of the screen under my strict rules. The reason I have to have it on this screen is because it shows everything, you not only see your current top score, but the actual current score at the game over, and the very top of the phase that you died on. And every snapshot has to be the same as much as possible. Guess its a strange compulsiveness thing or something. And here's another thing, the lighting is the same in my place as it was for all my pics, the camera is set the same for all of them, yet the quality of the pics vary immensely, F'in can't stand this piece of @#$%, bad enough I can't rely on it taking pics when I need one snapped off quickly, damn thing hesitated 2 seconds last game I played, I click it before the screen even finished scrolling up, it takes the pic just as the title screen appears, really ticked me off. Don't mind me, been irritable all day since I got up.

Score 135.500 Phase 13 (was dying a lot in one stage because I kept going for some bonus item that I just had to get--sometimes it looks like a cat, other times a doll--don't even know what the hell it did for me, guess I got some extra points for my troubles, will have to look in the manual online here, didn't get through as many stages but at least my score was my highest yet, even better than when I reached stage 20ish, so that's good, but I have yet to be able to pass stage 18 again):

I figured it had to be just bonus points, couln't find any mention in the manual about these, just the letters, which I also had no clue as to what these were for, only ever seen the 'M', I kept trying to collect it or hammer it, cost me a life once, but if you find all 5 letters of Mario's name in the correct order you get an extra life. Well, that could be useful.

18 is the real bitch, only passed it once, can't come close to that again, I think I got lucky that time. Update: never mind, finally passed phase 18 again.

Oh, don't forget your name in the pic, find yourself a post-it note or tape it to the tv or somewhere thereabouts so you don't forget.

Score 128.500 Phase 18:

Score 146.500 Phase 18:

Score 172.500 Phase 18 (got lucky in the bonus rounds; my arm slipped off the table when I took the pic, if its too blurry and no one can make out the numbers, no problem, I'm sure I can pass that score soon anyway):

Score 146.400 Phase 18:

Score 149.800 Phase 21 ('bout time I pass 18 again, I was lucky the first time, its all in the timing, hard to get all those eggplant men entrapped at once):

Score 126.800, Phase 18:

Score 149.700, Phase 18:

Score 124.600, Phase 16:

Score 171.000, Phase 19 (close to passing my highest score, Spike, Wario's precursor, was pissing me off, took a lot of my lives in phase 18, and my last life in phase 19, the jerk):

Lol. Drops an oil drum on top of your head, didn't see that either. Grins evilly. But we have a long ways to go, I'm sure sometime soon one of us is going to pass the 2 hundred thousand mark, then its really going to get good.

Edited: past the 2 hundred thousand mark.

Score 161.100 Phase 18 (this stage is still a pain in the butt cheap):

Score 206.600 Phase 25 (my top score so far, also highest phase):
