In celebration of RetroZone's NWC 1990 Repro's being stocked I say, "Let the games begin"!
Everytime the NWC 1990 comes up for discussion I always see the same thing...
"I can hold my own in Tetris but Rad Racer is the hard part"
or.. "Im not Thor Aackerlund, but I can get a solid score"
I say, "Prove it".
Well Here It Is: Time to post your NWC 1990 High Score ( Put your money where you mouth is.. or you photo where you screen is.. or something..)
RULES FOR POSTING HIGH SCORES (partially stolen from bimmy lee)
- Your UserName MUST be in the picture with your high score
- The whole TV / Monitor MUST be in the picture. No screen shots, no partial screens, no "print screen". - This shouldn't be an issue since the score stays up. (This means you need to use a camera to take a picture of the TV/Monitor/Projected Image on a camel; w.e it has to be a digital photo; or a digital photo of an actual photo - you know the drill.)
- Post your score in Large Font please.
- You can use emulators but hopefully hopefully you bought the repro - or have the grail in all its glory. Either are totally worth the money.
RULES FOR GAMEPLAY
1) Time MUST be set to 6:21 - No Exceptions. - Honor system on this guys, lets all be adults about this.
2) You MUST make it to Tetris to have your score qualify. (At Least 1 pt in Tetris)
3) "If you're really really bad at Tetris... Like you can't get a Tetris bad, just rock the turtle" - TetrisMattress. Rocking the turtle (or any other bug you can exploit) is fair game. See 2nd rule.
4) Don't f*ckin' cheat. Seriously, that sh*t is weak. At anytime you may be asked for a photo of a similar score reproduced, or for video footage of a similar score reproduced for verification of skill.
5) The use of any Game Genie codes, cheat codes, save states, or turbo controllers is strictly forbidden and will result is automatic disqualification as well as a ban from future participation.
Scoring
Highest score wins.
In the highly unlikely event of a tie, ties will be broken as follows:
Emulator or flashcart = -1000pts
Reproduction cartridge = + 0pts
Official grey competition cartridge = +1000pts
Official gold competition cartridge = +10,000pts
***NOTE*** PTS ONLY ADDED OR DEDUCED IN RESULT OF A TIE!!
Prizes??!! TBD... probably just bragging rights.
