Lol I’m sure he had me beat back then! I remember he made his own map, with a piece of construction paper, for the original zelda. We played astynax and I want to say Dino warz (we bought them at a yard sale for $.50!) together and he bought me destination earthstar for my birthday or Christmas.

Hahhaha! I played NES with my Grandma more than anyone else and she was the same way, just super involved in it...She had 250 or so NES games in 1999ish I think she was picking em up at the thrift stores for under a dollar for years.

LoZ was her favourite tape.

Thanks for sharing this. This reminds me of my own grandfather. He enjoyed playing Tetris so much on my Gameboy when we'd visit that my parents bought him his own!

You gotta love hip old folks. I would play the hell out of my grandparents 2600 when I'd visit. Then one day in '88 when lil 7 y/o me asked to play, grandma said. Aww you don't want to play that old thing, go grab the box under the bed... What do i find? Brand new nes. And then told it's mine better go give it a try.. Awesome, no birthday or Christmas just grandparents being awesome!! I still play that thing to this day, Thanks for the memory re-boot Clinton.

Cool story, neat photos. The old lamp & wallpaper and a nice extra touch of vintage!

I used to play N64 Wheel of Fortune with my 70 year old grandmother in the late 90s and she would always shout the answers at the screen before realizing she had to type it in herself

That really is awesome to see! You had a cool grandpa

None of my grandparents were into console games, but my grandma love handheld poker and yahtzee. I never could beat her high scores on yahtzee when I'd try
