Well, I was browsing today and someone had a lot of Mega Man games for sale that I felt was rather over priced.  However, their copy of Mega Man caught my eye. Unfortunately, this was the only picture that was posted and it's poor quality.  Is this a bootleg cart (which is what I'm guessing) or are there odd cart variations beyond the early 5 screw form factor and the standard 3-screw cassette.

That looks like a bootleg to me. I've seen some reproduction shells you can buy that have that indentation. And the top label looks like it was printed from the box art.

Agreed.  I was pretty sure it was a bootleg but bootleg or otherwise, I've nor seen a cart like that.  Even with the poor quality image, it looks like cheap plastic but I figured it was better to ask.

 

back in the day mega man 1  was the harder one to find and sold for more. So not surpised its the one with the shitty bootleg of the lot.

I didn't see that indent in the plastic but my first thought was maybe it was a PAL label? Now im curious to look!

That's not Mega Man.

I honestly didn't think it was legit but I know that some of the secondary regions (China, Korea, India, etc.) seem to have minor differences some times.  I assumed it was a bootleg but I wasn't 100% sure because of different regional variations..

The way it looks i'd bet it doesn't have screws in the back and the middle indention is for like a clip, so you clip the back of the cart on.
