Got one similar myself, except mine also has a second part on top of it. http://imgur.com/uf8az...
I'm pretty sure there's nothing "authentic" as in "official nintendo product" in any of these cabinets, they're probably aren't worth much.

I really have no idea of where these come from though, anyone knows?

It would be awesome to find out it's worth lots since I have the opportunity to get one for $0

Think it was an officially licensed product, although I can't seem to recall offhand. They are fairly rare, but they've been popping up more frequently in recent years.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Yeah mine is a bit different as this one is one big part, but that's the exact same stickers for sure.

It can't be worth that much, can it? Am I really using a rare and expensive collector's item as a nightstand?

EDIT :

These are usually about $30-$50 pieces. I have a brand new one I got on eBay about a year and a half ago for $50 shipped.

Thanks for the heads up, burdger, I knew there was something fishy about that 500 price tag, haha.

I wonder how many variants there are...

I believe there were 2 different sizes of this released, someone on here has one NIB and could tell you if it was licensed or not

I seen one today selling for $40.00. I passed on it becuase I already had one in much better condition. But $500 really, really, Really. I thought that $40.00 was steap, If thats I could be making some serious ca$h, the guy down the street from me has one to that he uses for a night stand.  And yes there are two different models that I know of for sure.

These are fairly sought after, but $500, I wouldn't bother making a "reasonable" offer on. Falls in the same category as the Nintendo ceiling fans, cool & scarce, but not worth several hundred, imo.
