The Currently Available Homebrew Thread:

At the risk of being redundant (there are greater sins after all...), I would like to clearly lay out the purpose of this thread, and that is: to keep an up-to-date list of cartridge homebrew releases that are currently in production for the NES, SMS, Game Boy, Genesis, SNES, and GBA. This list is for those who need their homebrew right now (well, now plus shipping time ). This list will only include currently available releases (or at least those willing to take your money or verbal commitment today), with sub-categories for news/updates, sold out runs, and coming soon releases. Hacks and repros will not generally be included. Sold out games will be kept for a while, for reference sake, and then eventually deleted if production is not renewed. Coming soon releases will only be included if there is a definite release date and time.

For simplicity’s sake, links will be to a game’s individual page/thread (or as close as possible). If a title is struck through, that means that it is still in production, but currently unavailable. Feel free to post in the thread if you see the status of a game change; I will try to update it as often as I can. If you are the creator of a game and you would like to have your work included at a set date/time, please feel free to send me a pm. I have some other plans in mind in regards to homebrew coverage (finally in the works!), but for now I will try to limit my activities to this thread.

*Please note, I am sure that there are mistakes and games that slipped my attention in what follows. Feel free to point them out .

This would be ok, but it is already REALLY hard to read and confusing. I'd maybe try something simple like this.

Battle Kid 2 BUY

Also, if you are calling it homebrew, make sure there are just homebrews and not reproductions. There are already plenty of threads about reproductions. Also, if it is about "available" homebrews, then if they are sold out, or discontinued they should be at least temporarily removed from the list.

Feel free to check out the thread in my sig for stuff that has already come out and may still be available. I'm loose on keeping up with availablity because RetroUSB stock changes so ofter. God speed, though!

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

In general, the first post does need some better formatting. We'll see what I can figure out without going the box/spreadsheet route. There are just too many exceptions and notes to make it clean. Plus, it does not appeal to my humanities' background . If I could find a way to do the whole thing with footnotes I surely would. Regarding repros and sold out runs, I think that that was mostly covered already. Unreleased protos and re-licensed games present another problem, and for the time being they are not included (hence, no Mr. Bloppy, Super 3D Noah's Ark, or the various offerings from Super Fighter Team). In order to keep things less cluttered, pictures are sadly off the list for the moment as well. Oh, and there are a bunch of GBA games that slipped my notice that I'll need to add later.

@FerrisBueller

Your list has come in handy more times than once, and it is my go to guide when contemplating a purchase. Check it out if you have not already!

@K3VBOT

Thanks for the heads up, I was really surprised that the first batch was not sold out yet. I added it to my cart this morning and it seemed to pass INL's advice on how to check to see if an item is in stock, but I did not fully go through with the purchase. There was recently a copy up for sale over in the seller's forum, though it was a FO listing.

That is one of the reasons why I sat on this post for several months. However, I figure that as long as I am working on a project and learning to program I'll be interested in what others are doing. Some of the recent homebrews that have come out and are about to come out are just downright inspiring. We'll see though...

I found the repro, but do you have a direct source saying that Rob ok'd it (feel free to speak up Mr. Bryant)? Jeremiah looks like a pretty rough dude and I don't really want to mess with him... Regardless, thanks for the great link, I have never checked them out. One of the key reasons why I wanted to start this thread!

I asked directly on the Sly Dog Studios Facebook page and was answered by the man himself. Feel free to check it, it was just about a week ago.

Awesome! I had no clue that that one was still in production. I'll take your word fot it, as I never can figure out Facebook... I just wanted to make sure that it was not a general repro maker reselling it without permission (or even with, if it was granted public domain by its author). I'll add it to the list!

I get no royalties from it, but he had asked permission first, and I thought that was cool, so I gave the go ahead to him years back after I made the game. So I promote it as being there : )

Instead of crossing things out, maybe change the color of the type to red or something if it is out of stock. It will be easier to read.

Well shoot. I tried it, but colors do not appear to be showing up. Neither did the shortened links when I tried them. If anyone has advice on either of these issues feel free to offer it up. I could do it with attribute tables , but these new fangled languages are beyond me. Everything should be back to how it was before, for the time being, but if you spot errors point them out.

For shortened links, you can just write a word, highlight it, then hit the link button. Right now font colors and resizing is broken.

Just so you know, hangman sg's price is that price shipped

They're still available, but cart only from here on out, I just haven't updated the site in forever and a half, plus I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't want it

Thanks for the update. I've had your for sale thread open for a few days debating which option to include, website or thread. If you want the link removed, let me know. I used the price from your thread, not the one from the website. Also, I've never been real clear on the run of Fix It Felix Jr. carts. Are you the author, or do you have the author's permission to produce them? In order to not have a ton more things to be on the lookout for, I am trying to avoid any publically available games that anyone can make and distribute.

Out of curiosity, can you shed some light on the status of Airwalk's other two offerings: Assimilate and NES Virus Cleaner? If they are coming back at some point, I'll leave them on; otherwise I'll take them off. Thanks!

There's 2 versions of Fix-It Felix, one done by me, and one done by Future Driver (http://68000.web.fc2.com/felix/...) that other people repro. The ones in my FS thread are only available through me (unless someone is pirating it and I don't know about it, but people have been very vigilant to point out any FiF carts being created by other people, so I've been keeping up on that, though very modestly). Once the ones in my FS thread are gone, I won't be making any more of them.

I forget the price I listed for Hangman SG in my FS thread, but I think it's lower than on the website since it's cart only now instead of cart + box (either UGC or a sega clamsell).

As for NES Virus Cleaner and Assimilate, I'll most likely be removing them off of the site. The person who was making them kind of disappeared, and I'd rather not mess with them myself. I was doing the Virus Cleaner for a while, but it became too much of a hassle finding donors locally, and I hate desoldering NES boards

Hopefully you'll have a new one to add to that list in the next few weeks, though it seems progress has kind of slowed down at the moment
