A new retro shop called zone 1 opened up recently. Has anyone been to one before? I bought Battletoads for the genesis from them for $8 this afternoon. They were asking $10 but lowered the price when me and my brother commented on how high they were. Their prices were decent for most of what they were selling. Current games cost less than what gamestop wants for them. Genesis and ps1 games were alright for the most part, but a few of the ps1 games were overpriced. But nes and snes games were ridiculously overpriced. $15 for a SMB/DH cartridge and $20 for SMW.

Sounds like retail at it's finest. I still laugh when I see SMB/DH's for anything higher than $4

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

If you manage a retro game store and don't know what a SMS is then you have no business doing what you do IMO.

this is the best type of store sometimes though... I got 4 princess tomato in the salad kingdom for $5 each from a store with pricing like this. and 1 was cib and 2 more had boxes. and then they try to sell mario 3 for $30

If you have any GBA signage or kiosk I would be interested. Please send me a PM because I'm only here about once a month now but I'm still VERY interested in large system signage or small playable kiosks related to the GBA.

Yup stores like these are hit and miss. In Los Angeles there's a place called GameDude, been there probably 15-20years(I got to go there some day) and I was looking recently and they will sell a BONK NES for $25 currently, yet you can roll them over for like $60-65 on ebay. Shops often will buy low and sell low and not give a crap if they're into mass movement. The stuff you have to worry about are shops like this, but run by know-it-alls, over-educated into fantasy land types, or the jerks who pray on the stupid with money to burn. Sadly I know of no shop that doesn't pray on people in my area so going into Orange or LA County would be about it.

I agree, anything over $1 for SMB/DH is outrageous. Although, I do wish I ran into some SMB and Duck Hunts that cheap, I need....well...a couple. XD

$1 even? Hell, I remember years ago at Funcoland they always had it for $0.01! Cheapest game on their whole price guide, and there were always tons of copies available too.

Okay, now for a penny. I'd buy them all! That's super cheap haha.

For a penny I'd buy like a 100 of them, then ask someone on here where to look for those very cheap do it yourself clock motors and I'd bore out a hole in the cart and turn it into a decorative wall or desktop clock. I've been wanting to do this for awhile and I recently got a shanked(oddly the pins, not the plastic?!) copy of the Last Starfighter and it's really tempting me.
