Alright peeps, just got this in a random EBAY lot I bought and it screamed proto as soon as I saw it. Weird front label and phillips screws plus giant board...
Anyway, here are the pics. I know little about protos so any insight at all is appreciated.
Argh, the pictures are blocked at my work. What game is it?
Congrats on the score btw! I've only purchased one prototype in a similar fashion. I saw a strange green labeled game in a lot that ended up being a Taxan prototype label (the game was Mappy Land).

I bought this lot on a BIN. It was 15 games for $29 shipped with some good ones (Bases Loaded 4, ikari 3, Kid ICarus). I bought it a minute or 2 after it was up. I then looked at the pic as I just read the titles to buy it. It was a bad pic it was clear that Kiwi Kraze had a homemade label so I was crossing my fingers. As soon as I saw the philips screws on the back I knew I had gotten lucky.
Congrats. I have collected for a very long time but have never had an interest in protos just because I figured I would never find one. I do have a question. I noticed you mentioned philip screws. Is this something to look if I ever come across a game with a homemade label?? Any help would be appreciated.
Jonathan, I know little about them but from what I have read on this site on other protos it just kind of threw up a red flag for me. Not having the standard screws kinda hinted that it may be an unusual cart I guess and I think I have seen other protos with these philips screws.
Update--The game does work perfectly. I did not see anything unusual on the startup screen and beyond that any differences will have to be searched for and I dunno if I want to be doing that. Anyway, at least it works!
Very nice score for you! It's always nice to see that you get a proto when you pull one from a lot of games.
------------------------- Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible! Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

Looking for Black cartridge Color Dreams games, last 3 I need: Metal Fighter, Moon Ranger, Baby Boomer. Please contact me if you have any of these!
That's lucky as hell. I've certainly never come across a proto. If I did, I'd probably turn around and sell it to help buy other games but if it were special enough, I might keep it. Like, say, a Maniac Mansion proto - if they even exist.
