Is that true for all games?  I know I have two seal versions (sold color seal and the similar white seal above) of Mega Man 1 / Link Gold and I'm sure there's more that I'm just forgetting....

Yeah, Nintendo of America has passed from a round to an oval seal of quality somewhere between 1988-1989, I don't remember exactly. The round seal had different colors depending on box and label artwork while the oval one is always gold and white.
