Didnt take any pictures at the beginning of the month when I played. Wish I did. Didnt have time to play much this month and forgot about this till last night. Had to get in some time tonight just for participation. Ken Griffey is annoying as fuck. When I pitch well I dont hit, When I hit I cant get anyone out and everything they hit is in no mans land and the computer screws me over not defaulting to the right defender.

I played a couple games. 1st game I hit like crazy and limited them pretty well will they poured on a couple when my pitcher started tiring. I got tons of people on base but everytime Id hit it right at someone. My 3 runs were 3 solo HRs that game lol. The comp makes the right plays by default and I have no clue on D which person theyll default me too. A ball hit in the hole. Supposed to be SS ball. And they default me to the third baseman. Run scores on shit like that. Second game I played I had a shutout through 6. But everything I hit it was right at defenders or a player would advance without me knowing and get doubled up. Game chooses when they want to randomly run. But yeah had one bad inning and lost that one by 6.

As far as super buster bros. Dont really like it. I got a lot further and better when I was playing at the beginning of the month for practice. The more I played the worse I did. ]]>

Honestly, Ken Griffey was one of the most excrutiating experiences I've had with a video game in a long time.  There are actually one or two video-baseball games that I like (one of my personal favorites being Baseball on NES).
We all have our own opinions on videogames.  While I agree that Ken Griffey doesn't hold up as well as it did when I was a teen, Baseball on the NES was mind numbing.  That is hands down my least favorite game we played during the NES contest so far.  I absolutely love the game of baseball.  I love to play and watch the game.  That game made me question my love of that sport. To be fair, my opinion on Baseball for NES may be a bit skewed for a couple reasons:

a) Baseball was one of the first games I had on my NES, back when I owned only a handful (SMB/DH, Contra, Ice Hockey, Donkey Kong Jr., Baseball). As a result, it got played quite frequently back then and I probably adjusted to any of it's shortcomings.
b) While I have booted it up for an occasional 5-minute jaunt, I must admit that I haven't actually played through a full game of it in many years. I'll have to give it another serious play and see if my opinion has drastically changed.

I like the sport of baseball quite a bit myself. I don't follow the season, teams, players or stats but I do enjoy watching the game itself being played, playing the game with my kids and even the occasional video or board game implementation. Actually, I'm currently loving a really neat 2-player board/card game called Bottom of the 9th, which is an amazingly fun game that takes only about 30 minutes to play and costs less than $20. Anyone who has even a little interest in baseball ought to check it out.

Also, Ken Griffey nearly made me curse the day video baseball was invented. If it wasn't for the fact that I've seen proof that video baseball can be good, I'd swear it was less a game and more a form of self-flagellation. ]]>

I was doing pretty good in Ken Griffey Jr holding off the Marlins until the 9th inning and that's when I discovered if you run your outfielders into a wall, they fall down. I know they probably wanted to try to go for some realism, but this is the ONLY baseball game I have ever played where your outfielders will collapse if they run against the wall. Caused the Marlins to get 3 runs on me. Ended up hitting a homerun in the bottom of the 9th and was hoping my luck would turn around, but it didn't. You can see the box score on the newspaper at the end of a match by moving the D-pad around. You can also see other game stats as well. Not as bad of a baseball game as I thought it was going to be and I can see myself playing more of this (just not before the contest deadline). ]]>

Oh man, I remember kicking so much butt at this during the early to mid 90s too.  Maybe my memory sucks or I'm become terrible at it 20 some years later.

Probably not gonna be able to toss up scores this month.  Here's hoping for next month!

Ken Griffey (the game, not the athlete) can go die in a car fire. ]]>
