I don't really quit, btw. I love you all too much.

Good to hear that, keep doing what you do great.

I really feel that bunnyboy hit the head on the nail, this is a FREE e-zine. Stop complaining, noone tells you to download it, noone makes any money from it, you don't pay anything for it, if you don't like it - don't download it. Constructive critisism is great, but when it evolves into plain bitching... Stop.

Just my $0.02.

Well critique is always useful. We want the best magazine we can have, and part of that is assimilating constructive comments. There was a little just-plain-bitching in the thread, but also some useful things we'll take to heart. One one thing that makes me happy is that people are talking about it, at least. The past few months it's seemed like there has been a malaise towards the Zine and its articles.

About the free thing...I think Orri's point is that including a price guide isn't "free" - it costs the community in the form of modifying generally accepted prices, so in his opinion there's a negative effect by its release. The way I see it is, information is never good or bad, it just is. So long as we eliminate as much error as possible and keep the info free of bias, it stays neutral and pure. The numbers are useful to a very high, real degree. It's very difficult to obtain any kind of data (for any experiment) that's completely free of error, but that doesn't mean sampling and compiling is a worthless endeavor.

Obviously some people will think all of these prices are high. Others will think they're low. It all comes down to the individual market. Many of us here will think that since the majority of these games are marked at $3 or $4, the list is inflated. Keep in mind, this is the price of buying one game, on-demand, in the competitive online market. Getting games in lots is always cheaper - it's the "big box" discount.
Getting games at a yard sale is also cheaper, but you never get what you want on-demand. And going to a retail store that operates locally, you'll usually pay more since there's less competition.

Someone made the comment that this guide should not be advertised as a price guide, rather explained solely as an eBay average sold value list. I think the "guide" nature (as in a guideline) speaks for itself, people will refer to it and see some games sell for more than others. Those trading will be able to use the values as a unit of comparison. Those selling, especially more than one game at a time, will be able to use the total values as a starting point for negotiation. I'll include a disclaimer mentioning these points from hereon in (since my editorial won't be explaining it everytime), to clarify, but I think calling it a price guide is an accurate representation, and one that people largely understand the nature of.
