The release was definitely not 1993, as far as I know, the game was never formally released up until the early 2000s.

The box color theory is a lie too, imo, something too many people put stock into.  
 
I updated the thread, if there are any sources for what people believe is wrong information, that would be very helpful. Thanks for the input!

  I tentatively disagree about the box color (the order in the OP is correct IMO)... we need NGD to chime in on this one, as he was certain there was an order to this and at the time, he was the only person that had all 4 colors that I knew of.
