"Only minor hernias"

Yeah, you know... when your guts squirt into your scrotum just a little bit instead of blowing completely through your abdomenal wall instead...

What is wrong with you? *puke*

Sorry to pile on but you're quite possibly wrong. My Sony WEGA 32" is over 170 lbs. These things are no joke to move.

WEGAs are sound heavier than equivalent Trinitrons.  (my post above has the 222 lbs for the 36" WEGA vs the stated 190 lbs for a 36" trinitron -- unless the 190 is under-estimated)

I suspect any difference could be due to WEGAs being flat, so needing even thicker glass than a large traditional curved CRT.

oh; I had no idea. I just know that this WEGA nearly killed me when I had to move it.

Sorry to pile on but you're dead wrong. My Sony WEGA 32" is over 170 lbs. These things are no joke to move.

Yeah my 36" is just getting worse. I am sure recapping it will help but thats a whole other ball game. My fear of electric shock is strong with working on a CRT
I’ve watched a few videos on you tube taking apart the crt’s and I’m just thinking “ya, that’s out of my ball park”.

Im currently on the hunt for a nice regular tube tv with component input. If I can find one I’ll never mess with a trinitron again. Or a pvm/bvm or the grail sharp tv I think it was Japan only? The one they used to take screen shots of for Nintendo power?

Agree. I have 3 professional monitors too. 2 PVM's and JVC Multi-format that will do 240p through 1080i..........I was obessed with RGB and shit for a good 2 years.
