My suspicisions were correct. Three young girls fronting a metal band as presented/conceived by a music producer. From Wiki: "None of the three members were familiar with metal music before the inception of the band" ... not surprisingly...

This is kind of like the McDonald's of music. Genetically modified music made by music producers to sell records.
