Dry Bowser, was it you who were saying the reason these consoles and games are always so banged up is because they've likely been passed down a lot? Like, these games were insanely expensive for the average person to own back then, so they would have passed hands many many times as they got older, being sold down to poorer and poorer families as the years went by? Very interesting story, if so!

No I think it was either PowerPlayers or Of Games who said that but I agree with their analysis.

Another reason is that 99% of people here in this region think that video games are "only for kids" and they are basically viewed as toys. So if you can imagine that these were primarily handled by little kids, naturally they wouldn't be in good condition anymore. 

I would say the grime on them is from being passed down a lot and the ripped stickers are the work of a bunch of naughty kids lol. I have a young kid who absolutely loves to pull the stickers off of all of his toys.
