The best action to preserve a prototype is to make a backup of the data. Prototype carts are not designed for long term data storage, and the flash ROMs that were used in the 90s are not exactly reliable (just ask anyone who collects Nintendo Power carts). Though if you want to protect the physical cart, getting a plastic case to put it in is definitely a good idea. ]]>

While I encourage preservation, a little label damage will probably not affect the value. I keep mine in hard plastic cases. That way I can get to them to play them.

Which N64 proto is it? The tomb of a VGA case is a bit to permanent. I have been looking to buy a proto. You could always sell it to me and I could send you pictures from time to time...lol

 
Sprocket/ rocket robot on wheels thanks for the offer but I've always loved the n64 prototypes and this one is by far the coolest I've  Seen  so I doubt it leaves my collection ever
