That should have been the final version of that game. Woof. I dated a chick a few years back who owned at Fester's Quest. It kind of blew my mind to see the game look so easy with the right person playing it.

Anyway to add to this, just from a game I recently made. Recca. Thank god for the infinite lives code. I enjoy this game a LOT and have no interested trying to 'really' beat it. I just love blowing up everything, it has a very soothing affect on me.

Ill also add NARPASSWORD for Metroid, just when I wanna play it and run thru it, and not grind for everything. Ive beaten it without it, but to me its more fun just to explore and have all the weapons at start. ]]>

Contra for sure.

That 30 lives cheat made the game at least worth playing by giving you a chance. A very small one.

I know it can be beaten without it but I don't know very many people who could beat it with the 30 lives cheay nevermind without it.

Cue the person whose the best at every video game and will post somerhing like:

"pfft that games easy. I beat it with one hand with my eyes closed, while rabid mongoose were nibbling on my toes and a 747 jet turbine was blowing me outta my chair. Fuckin casuals."
Someone will say that regardless of the game. But in the case of Contra, I'll say that I always used the code and had no trouble beating it. Then eventually, I started trying it without the code and I got better and better and realized it's highly memorizable and pretty predictable. You just have learn how to make smarter moves. And keep the spread gun.

I almost never use cheats these days, but for me, I don't find Sim City (SNES) enjoyable unless I do the tax trick. But then I end up getting bored with having too much money too and it doesn't feel like a real accomplishment.
