Yeah, just wear and tear. My Zelda:LttP NFR looks very similar to that which is on the bottom, and from what I can tell, it's just a lot of wear.

i have an n64 cart that looks just like that. I'd bet its just worn/faded

Sounds like a case of "McDondald's Hands" where kids who spend a lot of time in the back of minivans are swapping portable games in and out with McDonald's all over their hands. That'll eat labels fast.

The yellow worn spot on the top one above the "Zelda" makes me think so too. It's funny how all of the white letters, (the code and the seal) are completely gone from the lower one. As is "the legend of" and "A Link to the Past"

looks the same to me, only normal game wear, but thast my eyes and i'm nto an expert
