This is just an estimate though. I'm not sure what that case is actually worth. It's just really how much someone would be willing to pay for it. There was one with the system in the last "Game Chasers" episode. The store wanted $200 for it, and Jay said it had been sitting there for months.
Yeah it was the newer episode where it was in a store that was going out of business. The price tag on it was $199, but the business was selling everything for 50% off-- but I wouldn't say the case with the system would be $100, the store was just trying to get rid of everything.

I get what you're saying.  The point I was trying to make was that it sat there for months at $200 and no one was buying it, only when the price was lowered to $100 did someone consider buying it.  This leads me to believe that if you can find the right buyer, someone may pay up to $200 for it, but it's most likely work less than $200.

The price you paid, is about $50 lower than what all the games will retail for. Here's approximately what some of the pricier titles go for:

Popful Mail - $150-175 (if you can get it to work, otherwise it loses significant value)
Batman $25-30 (if you hand the disc), maybe $10 for just the box.
Dark Wizard - $25-30.
Spiderman - $25-30
Lawnmower Man - $30-40
Star War - $10-15
The rest of the games are in the $7-$12 range.

I'm not sure what a sealed Third World War would go for though.

The price of the games plus the system and that sweet rental case probably make the whole lot somewhere in the $500-$550 range. I'd say you got a fair deal at $375.

Here is an update... kind of unsure how I feel about the outcome of my realization(s).
1. Popful Mail is defiantly the highlight game. I want to say I searched it on eBay around halfway thru looking up all the titles; after seeing the price I didn't want to waste anymore time, and went and bought it.
2. Popful Mail was kind of scratched up, but nothing too bad (which is why I was bummed it didn't play)
3. I went to Family Video, got it cleaned... looks crispy; still shows one or two of the slight scratches, but barely anything left and I guess they did the lightest setting to not shave off more than needed (as the disc was already in decent shape)
4. Came home, popped it in, and bam.. still no-go. I was very bummed, but then I figure I'd make sure it wasn't the system. It ends up the disc reader is bunk (I tried about 5 games... all in good shape, and non of them worked). I don't understand what is wrong as the system looks so crispy and nice, but I'm guessing the laser reader just went dead, maybe hopefully? I read it is around a $30 fix (again though, I know NOTHING about Sega, let alone Sega CD). ]]>
